I have been accused of this before, usually by the same people...but I see it the other way. It seems to me like the "likers" condescend to the dissenters, all the time. By far, the person who gets this the most is Haberdasher, but Shaf, I feel like you've been on the end of that before, too.
I don't intend to condescend (but I did intend for that to rhyme). I just said what I thought about it....and then I was told that I didn't really think that, that I was picking on the show unfairly, that I wanted Citizen Kane, etc.
EDIT: I see we are acknowledging condescension. Well there it is, then.
And for the last time, I posted the questionnaire so I could figure out what I was missing about this apparently excellent show.

For what it's worth, my condensation isn't out of spite or hatred to individuals, I'm just a bit of a sarcastic jerk most of the time.

This show is dumb...but really really fun!! The Creature From the "Back" Lagoon is awesome! I enjoyed it.
Full review to follow.
BTW, I still liked Monster Stomp Revamped more in this location.

Or he just liked Monster Stomp more... I'd have a really hard time deciding between this year's Fiends and 2009's Monster Stomp.

I just think it's great we get all these critical reviews from a youtube video rather than actually seeing it.

I, unlike some other Robin Hoods, have actually seen it in person.

And just because you have seen it in person, doesn't make those of us who have only watched the video's argument invalid. I, for one, plan to watch the show in person to make my stance on the show solid. As stage shows always look better in person than they do recorded. (Stage Lighting does not do well on camera.)
I can't speak for the others who found it lackluster, but in comparison's to last years version, I found this years... less appealing. It doesn't mean that it 100% is. I was expecting a bit more from it. I wasn't expecting Tampa levels, but I was expecting more. If anything I felt that they toned down the nurses.
I appreciated giving the nurses a bit more personality, and making them more important to the show versus just the whole "I'm the sexy back-up dancer who does nothing of real importance to the show." They gave one nurse a brain. Well sorta, she certainly isn't the brightest bulb in the batch, but it gave the nurses some significance to the show.
As to what I said about the crowding on the stage, yes they will have the whole cast out on stage at once. That's nothing new at all, but it felt crowded, because for the most part the nurses never left the stage. They were constantly on stage unless grabbing parts to create the monster, or the occasional move over to one of the side entrances to the stage. They were always there. Yeah the interactions between the wolfman, vampire, swamp monster, and the nurses were great. But you can achieve the same thing with fewer people on stage. It just felt crowded to me.
It's probably different in person, I won't know until I finally get to go this year. I want to see it in person, because even if I found the show lackluster, or not what I was expecting, I still enjoyed it over all.

Gonna try not to feed the trolls. Everyone is right in their opinion, in my opinion. Here is why I dont like it. Last year's show was funny, sexy, interactive and different. Okay, so the venue wasnt right. I agree (kinda). But to completely overhaul the show, in my opinion, wasnt the anwer. All things I liked about the show were changed. Just keeping nurses in pink wigs and short skirts wasnt what I was looking for. So my first issue is they could have kept 80% of last year's show and it would have worked.
I did see it live and have some other issues with what it is, rather than comparing it to last year. Eye of the Tiger, really....really?? The Creature at the end is not what I would call eye candy, although he is thin he isnt he beefcake I was expecting. Plus the guy looked completely out of place and had the rhythm of chair. The lagoon creature was funny and his duet with Igor was the best part of the show. I am sure it will be better in a couple of weeks, but to me the core of the show is weak and tweaks wont make it for me. I think they cut out the Time Warp because its nearly impossible to include most of the audience in the dance in the Abbey Stone.

Saw it today. It started off so promising then just fell apart so fast. All over the place and nothing flows. But regardless, the nurses are still awesome
