RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

If somebody says one change is great and another says that change is awful, are they really really attacking each other? I think this is the thing most people get confused about.

Hell, I got excited when Charlie got all slutty this week on Revolution. I can't just sit in my living room, in my boxers, and watch Cathiuse anymore.
Is this not your private life? Is this not something you'd do (Or now can't do) in your private life? That's what I was referring to.

You shouldn't have to go to BG and watch a theme park show to get any sort of entertainment like this show is now giving. Married or not. This show should be anyone who understands adult humor and some silly antics should be able to enjoy it. The show is now specifically reaching out to very specific demographic, which lowers the entertainment value to those of us who are not part of that demographic.

You got me on the Charlie thing, forgot about that, sorry, just trying to make a point!

The real point here is we can make our opinions known without personally calling someone out. You hate the show, fine, I like it. Yet I will not tell you that you are wrong for that. It is not sexist to enjoy burlesque. I was giving the perspective of a demographic. If you are offended, then that is your conscience tapping you on the shoulder. In other words, if your convictions are so strong, then why does what someone else say bother you? D'fhéadfadh an tairbhe a bheith riamh i do dtús báire.

No, they aren't. I was explicitly NOT objecting to that. As I said, debate the merits of the show. Just don't attack each other.

If you feel you have been personally attacked, or if you see a message which you feel is attacking another poster, please use the report button on the post, and allow one of the site staff to review it and we can make a determination to remove or edit the post as necessary. No need to argue over what constitutes an attack here in the thread :)

Now let's get back on track with discussion about Fiends, please.

Done. It feels a bit like tattling, though.

I'll let you in on a secret - I don't read every word of every thread in the forums. No reported posts to me means that everything is just hunky dory. It honestly helps make sure the site staff doesn't miss anything; plus if we don't catch it right when it's posted, it helps keep it from spiraling out of control. That goes for anything - spam, attacks, inappropriate content, etc.

I can't change how using the Report button feels for anyone, but it's definitely an underutilized forum feature in my opinion.

Ok, that's enough on this subject in this thread. Any further comments, questions or criticisms on this subject should go in this forum: http://forum.parkfans.net/forum-13.html ... back on track to Fiends from here on out!

I think the only issues with Fiends this year are the technical problems with mics.

I believe it had the same problems last year, when i saw it, the wolfman's mic didn't work when he came out, and nobody could hear him. by the time they got his mic he was 3/4 of the way done with his number

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

Saw a couple shows on Sunday.

Best improvements:
- Sound mixing during Thriller was MUCH improved. The sound levels between the Doctor and Simplicity singing were more evenly matched. Thank goodness. Nothing drives me up the wall more quickly than badly mixed sound.
- The doctor does the spoken lines in Thriller in the same melodramatic voice as he delivers his lines. Very funny.
- During the line "this brilliant and good looking", one of the nurses ruffles the doctor's hair. Don't know why, but this cracked me up badly both times I saw it.
- At one point, one of the nurses gives the creature's butt a big old hand squeeze. Really sank her fingers into the padding of the costume. Made me laugh out loud.

Step backward:
- "Oh no he didn't!" line is back. It usually gets a big laugh, but I cringe whenever I hear it. It must be just me, but I find that particular joke to be mildly racially offensive. I was glad when it went away. It's the doctor who says the offensive stuff, not the creatures, and he gets punished for it in the end.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed, but this is a true FIENDS 2013 moment...

This is for information about the show, not to be immature or pervie. :p

WARNING!!

End of final song pose. Watch the Vampire.

It honestly looks like he's about to drop her on her head. :/

(To be fair, it does make for an interesting pose. It's just not very natural looking.)

RE: Fiends (2011 to Present)

In theater you often do things that are unnatural. Hell, I had to commit suicide while holding a note! How natural is that? The park is eating up all the negative comments about the show because it feeds off of controversy. Controversy sells more than sex does. There is a line for Fiends just like the one for CF. In radio, when a talk show host says something outrageous, the next day, his ratings are through the roof! Keep it up, I enjoy the show.

As a dancer, she looks perfectly secure to me. We do much more dangerous lifts than that. She also looks as if she belongs on a pole.

Oh I'm not saying she doesn't look secure, it's the picture. He has her very securely I'm sure. But the way the picture looks, it makes it look like she's about to be dropped, rather than a final pose.

The show really isnt that bad. Please. If you think this is too sexy or raunchy why don't you tune into Bill & Ted at HHN? It'll Rock your themepark world. I promise.
