I'd agree with Applesauce, Never After and Deadtime Stories were good. I guess this time period was the heyday of HOS houses for us. I thought I'd throw these pics in today to cheer things up from the gloom we have now.

But my all time fave was MasqueRage. Well done, cool logo and props, great T-shirts. I don't know why it wasn't around longer. They would split your party up at the end and send you through different endings. The monks and the end? Most fakes but some REAL ones!

Just LOOK at that quality!

I was always partial to the bridge in
Festa Italia. My husband worked there and we would go and just watch the scares. Very funny. He held a puppet clown he called Henry and was able to buy him a few years later. Still cannot figure how to post pictures...it just is not working for me. Want to share him with you guys so I am still trying!

I remember that creepy little puppet. Got us so good on the bridge many moons ago.
You think it's just a guy with a clown puppet and then as soon as you get beside him on the bridge he would shake and scream it at you.
That was the best. :)

Edit:
I really enjoyed Wicked Woods back in the day. There was a scare actor that worked there that was at the very end of Wicked Woods, and then he was in the attraction behind the Festhaus. It was back when there were three haunted attractions behind the Festhaus. He was out on the trail with the big headed scary bunny guy. This particular scare actor was one of the tallest men I'd ever met with a wrestlers build and he was always so sweet but good at getting scares. We got a picture with him the last year he was there and then the following year we asked about him and he wasn't there.
Always wondered what happened to him. He did such a great job at Howl-O-Scream.
Never After was also a favorite too.

Believe it or not MasqueRage, as high-quality as it was, it was never finished as planned. The park initially had plans to build a haunted house based off of Curse of DarKastle. They even had a costume ready for Ludwig. MasqueRage was the aftermath of their original plans. To make matters worse, they had to pretty much stop in the middle of building the house, because they realized it would cause a big traffic jam. This was due to Wicked Woods being right next door. MasqueRage will go down in history as one of the many plans that never came fully into fruition. If you're wondering how this came from DarKastle-based house, the stories are both very similar. (Both stories involved a grand Palace/Castle, and both had a party where the guests vanished mysteriously.) I really hope that Busch Gardens kept some of those plans, and will reuse some of them in the future. It would've been amazing to see what could have been. This just goes to show that Howl-O-Scream can always be very hard for those dealing with money, whether you're good with money or not.

So after looking at pictures of Howl-o-Screams past from 2003 to 2011, all I have to say is where the heck did all these amazing props go? I know the park has it's Entertainment sales for team members, and they practically sell off tons of old costumes, signs, lights, props, but a lot of those props should still be in storage? Where did they go? I actually liked those Ent. sales, got me some werewolf gloves and I know a friend who bought the sign for Fear Fair.

I have also been inspired to create my own catalogue of the park's history starting now, that way you can scroll through pages of pictures and look back and say, remember back then?

Where does BG get their props from? Are they made specially for them or do they buy them from like a Halloween store? (i.g. Spirit)

Ripper Row was used before, as previously noted. This was added to the name when Wicked Woods moved from the petting zoo to behind Roman Rapids. It added a Jack the Ripper streets kind of vibe along with fewer ghostly statues and druids in the woods.

My girlfriend and I were discussing this, while getting our nails done last night, and we agreed we both loved an outdoor Victorian maze (probably British). Neither of us can remember the name, of course. We agreed that if Ripper Row is similar, it will be awesome.

^ Is the one you're talking about in Banbury awhile back? Was it put up in the old zoo? It was Wicked Woods (See BGW Family pictures above), if so. That maze WAS GREAT! I loved it, too!
