I have found the ride to be quite intense and definitely during the beginning I look at all the technical stuff as well. I once was able to tell how large that space the simulator room is. It really is quite surprising since you don't feel very far off the ground.

I also noticed the corners of the projectors project on to the air sled.

I found it was smoother towards the end as well but none of the movements actually match up with the camera movements. and then quickly it changes to a different area. But overall it was really bad and I regret riding it. Half the time I wasn't watching the screen and was looking around at all of the technical aspects. Has anyone else noticed how close you get to the projectors during the ride?

The last few times I rode the ride all I could do is look over my shoulder and watch the projectors. There is some good tech behind the ride. The range of movement is awesome for a base that dates back to the '80s. It is also awesome the same base became so many rides in different configurations.
The problem with Europe in the Air is story. I could care less what is going on the screen. Some cool images of Europe? I could fire up Google earth for that. Telling a good story should come first, the ride is second. I am sad such a cool piece of tech is not used to tell a better story.

I was told the simulator was always meant to be a flight simulator with smooth motion, Questor and Corkscrew Hill created maintenance nightmares. Especially the horse scene in Corkscrew Hill. Image 3 tons oing up and down very rapidly and fast. That takes a major toll on the equipment. In fact, it had gotten bad to the point that cracks had to be welded shut. Though I hear Questor was much more rough and worse with the simulator than Corkscrew Hill. Still Europe in the Air treats the equipment so much better.

As a counterpoint to kenwa, the only things I enjoy about the ride are the views of Europe. We generally use the ride to talk to our daughter about the places we've taken her. The "do you remember the Arc de Triomphe" conversations are fun.

This is the only ride left in the park that I have not experienced. We walked right past it on Friday during our epic 'empty' park visit. Knowing that there was NO LINE and still by-passing this ride that I've never been on, probably means I read this forum too much :)

This isn't meant to be snarky, this is a truly genuine question. What exactly do you enjoy about it? I personally like the sights, the music, and I think the experience itself is actually pretty neat. My biggest gripe is how it clashes with Killarney's mystical, Celtic theme.

I LIKE but don't love the ride for basically the sites shown. I won't be getting to Europe again any time soon, so I actually enjoy the mini travel reel. Luckily, I don't experience nausea on this ride, though I hope I didn't just jinx myself! FWIW I did like Corkscrew Hill much better because of its story line and whimsy. But at least this does show Europe, and in that minor sense it fits the theme of the park. Agree with those suggesting the basic ride apparatus could have been used for something much more impressive, I would think. Euro Soarin' never quite cut it.

Did we mention how much fun it is to play "Mole Rat" in the first half of the queue? :p

As much as I'd like to like something about it, I just can't find the will to. When I go through the queue all I can think about is "how does a cave fit a supposed airport?", then I get to the castle area, and I look at the ads covering up the windows, and think those are very cool windows without the ads. Then I get to the preshow room, and I think the preshow is cheesy. After that I go to the pre-loading room and look at the lights on the floor, and see how they are orange and green, and think that this was just another little detail that used to support the Irish theme, that no longer exists here. Finally I get to the simulator, and throughout the whole ride all I can think about is how Corkscrew hill was so much more exciting, and that I'm doubting going on because I know I'm going to have a headache after(nausea doesn't effect me). Lastly, I go to the exit room and find the pots that look exactly like the ones that portray pots of gold, another thing that helped enhance the Irish theme that used to be. It's hard to find something good, about something that isn't even half as good as what used to be there, and all the great memories of what used to be there.

If I had to pick something, I guess I would pick the pictures, and live action videos, but that's about it.
