I kind of assumed that was the fundamental pun behind the name. No?

I liked the pre-show video a lot more than EitA... The Irish Captain guy was great! The leprechauns are cringe inducing, I usually just look around the room instead.

It inspired my love of google earth so I think back on it a lot. looking at footage now it seems like a pretty poor effort but it was effective as a child

I also didn’t like the voiceovers that they added over the ride’s beautiful score later on. Looking back, honestly, I almost want to say I liked the original version of this ride more than Battle for Eire.

I agree. The first version was beautiful and quite enjoyable. We all joked it was a poor man's Soarin'.

Europe in the Air may have been a 2/10 ride, but it had 10/10 music. I wish we knew more about who wrote the score and how the ride’s development team managed to land such an impressive song. It is the perfect ride song. Adventurous and swashbuckling, sweeping and soaring, elegant and serene, it captured so many different emotions that fit the visuals perfectly all with a spirited rhythm that never let up. I especially loved how they managed to work in a few notes and instruments that matched the landmarks we were seeing on screen, like the Westminster Chimes when we saw Big Ben or a selection of brass instruments that mimicked car horns as we “drove” down the streets of Paris. Whoever wrote the song really cooked.

@Mushroom the song was composed by Timothy Williams. He also composed the soundtrack for SeaWorld’s Blue Horizons which was also a phenomenal score.

While I can’t find any reference to Europe In The Air on his current website or any of his links, here is something from archive.org.

The Globe Theatre is no more related to an airport than a castle in Ireland.

The problem with the ride was that it was a vastly inferior imitation of a ride many BGW guests had already ridden years prior (Soarin).
