Yup they are...they have started working on adding the lights for polar pathway. You can see the white things on top of the roof. I guess that's what they hang the lights from that.Matthew said:

I really enjoy seeing some of the old pics of Pompeii. This still is a great ride and one of the more unique "shoot the shoots" rides in the world. Some folks have mentioned a few references to effects not working anymore. Does anyone know what effects were removed? I worked on the ride as a ride operator and a park ops unit several years ago and don't recall the any effects missing from present day operation.
Pompeii's sundial was missing yesterday. I honestly wonder why it was taken out in the first place. They don't take it out for CT, Santa just goes on top of it. It could be for maintenance, but I think it would be highly irregular to take out a prop that large for maintenance, rather than performing it on site. Who knows, maybe they could be putting some ruins theming back in, or a whole new centerpiece. We'll see.

It was not that bad. We did not get very wet until after the drop. That is when someone hit us with the hose. I guess we forgot to use the lotion.

All of the fire elements and everything were working great (fire crawled along the ceiling) except for the statue that falls over. It stayed up when we Escaped Pompeii!! Great day for a water ride if you ask me.

We rode it multiple times yesterday. My boy was the one that noticed the statue was not falling over. The fire elements were nice because it actually warmed us up.
My suspicions have been confirmed, the sundial seems to not be returning. It seems to have been replaced with a uh, well, boulder(a fake one at that) surrounded by three evergreen trees. Here's a picture:
Since the area seems to be very empty now, they could always, well, add some ruins theming around the boulder, but I guess that could be too much to ask from the park.
