Well actually I'm not sure what pompeii would be classified as. There is no Shoot the Chutes on inatmins wbesite so I'm not sure. I think it might be a intamin spillwater that I found here.

Actually, I think Pompeii would be classified by Intamin as a "Super Splash".  That's pretty much just their name for a Shoot the Chutes.  The generic Shoot the Chutes name came from rides in the early 1900s.

It's most definitely a spillwater.

Pompeii is closed for the season Or at least that was what I was told. Boats are still in places and it's still filled with water.

Fun Fact Friday: During Opening year they would hold the boats at the top of the drop and then release to the splash below. They stopped this to speed up the ride and mechanical issues.
