Wish i could see your pics :( they never show up on my pos comp.lol)

I have only been on this ride a couple of times(maybe three) but more often than not i dont get to ride it due to it being closed. My husband loves it because being a firefighter he likes seeing the fire effect. The last time we went it wasnt working. I like the ride, but like alot of things it needs work.

Honestly, the past couple of years the maintenance on the effects in Escape from Pompeii has improved greatly. Only rarely do I go on it nowadays(the last couple of years or so) to find an effect isn't working, whereas in the past it was very, very rare that I went on it and found that all the effects were working properly. The main one that seems to be always reliant now, compared to the past is the door opening effect. As a child, the door almost always stayed open, there were some years where I might have seen it working only once or twice. I love that they've made it work properly, it really adds to the experience, IMO.

I am glad to hear this since my last ride was a couple of years ago. I really do like the ride. I remember riding it when i was younger. Hopefully i will get a smooth ride this time if it isnt too cold. .

I assumed everyone knew this but the fire effects are human operated. A team member sits in a booth and presses a button when a light turns green and the fire effects start. If the team member doesn't press the button or presses it too soon or too late there are no effects. This is done for rider safety so that the flame effect won't go off if riders are not properly seated inside the boat. It has nothing to do with maintenance.

Why would everyone know that? Pompeii wasn't on the RC Tour, when I took it, so I'm not sure where I would have gotten such an obscure fact.

I thought about taking it, but I wasn't interested in paying money for shows that I don't watch, when they are free. And while I know that some people have been able to change the elements of the tour, my fear was that capability was tour guide-dependent.
