Why would you put a show like that in the main dining hall? I think that's most everyone's point...

Let me ask you this....If Entwinded questionable for the Festhuas, wouldn't Fiends also be questionable??
I felt Fiends was inappropriate, not just in content, but also through the excessive use of that god aweful synthetic fog.

I will miss "This is Octoberfest", but I look forward to the new and I am willing to give Entwined a chance.
On a side note: I like the Cuckoo Clock, it's fun and whimsical.

Because the whole park was themed to a scary Halloween place and a halloween themed show only showing on days when the park is in "halloween mode" is acceptable.

Also I'm not even going to try and begin to understand how fog is questionable or inappropriate... The fog was really light inside the building but added to the atmosphere and lighting for fiends.

1) No costumed charecters/fur suits. The wolf and three bears would be actors in costumes like the rest of the cast. Themed to be an obvious bear/wolf.

Let's make it even easier and nix the bears altogether; that's an English story - not German.

To quote the park: "Play By Day, Fright By Night". During the day they try to bring in the same people that they bring in during the normal season.

But the whole park Is halloween themed, and they started doing early shows to accommodate the large amount of guest who wish to experience them...

We saw them do "Pure Imagination" from Willie Wonka at the 4:30 rehearsal. Didn't recognize the other two songs we heard though.

The opening number is "Once Upon a Time" from the musical Brooklyn.

Hänsel and Gretel sing "I'm the Bravest Individual" from the musical Sweet Charity.

If there was any place in the park that needed rethemeing, it is New France. I think we can all agree on that. IT is based on something that isn't even in Europe, so yeah.

One day I'm going to dedicate myself to fixing all these hot topic issues about the park, but like most things no one will agree because people don't like to compromise and they don't like to agree.

I think Entwined at least has a German theme to it, and it is a modern show. What I honestly think scares people the most is of how modern it is. Being Liberal here, change is a good thing. It something we should always accept, unless it becomes an epic failure, then we should welcome change again and accept the new will be replaced with something more new.

I think BGW is keeping in good ties with their theme always. Grimm Fairy Tales = German = Oktoberfest, Fiends = Frankenstien = based in Germany = Oktoberfest, The park keeps the main theme of things flowing together.

Back on topic: Entwined is probably better than what this general thread is thinking.

EDIT: A useless fact, Frankenstien was the name of the doctor, the actual creature had no name and didn't look like the Frankenstien monster we imagine today.

Maybe we can have a separate country dedicated to Fiends all year round with beer fountains, lol, but of course we must post signs everywhere to keep the whiney parents from complaining.

Haha, one day, when I find what everybody loves :p

Hey man, I vote for beer fountains and more nurses.

"beer fountains". ROFL funniest thing I've heard all week! A perfect example of reminding people of BGWs 'roots' ;) lol

RE: Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm (2012)

So here is my review of Entwined! I got to see the show in full without interruptions. It really is a family show and one of the things Scott mentioned was, how would capacity be handled with this family show. According to him, even with the larger stage, capacity wasn't compromised. Also, Scott specifically said that this show was being planned out for the past two years. So it apparently isn't something they just came up with. All the stage designs and costumes were designed by Phil Raybourne. The music was made specifically for Busch Gardens only, like the orchestration. Also, the Costumes Department made all the costumes, they didn't outsource. So a lot really has gone into this show.

Now on to the actual review of the show. I like story line, it is clear and I love how there is some dialogue going on and not just constant song to song. The actually show looked very well put together, and I think the general public will see it as perfectly performed. They really did seem to have everything together very nicely. However, the gnomes obviously made some mistakes in their acrobats, which isn't too terrible, it still was performed well. I don't like how they show you the Prince/Princess, Pied Pipper, Goldie Locks and the three bears, but they don't have major roles in the story. They just seem to be extra bodies. Stage effects were really neat, I throughly enjoyed those. I can't wait to see how Fiends will fit onto the new setup. Overall, the performance was great, the theme was very close to Germany fairy tales, but it was missing that Oktoberfest touch. I think this show will keep young children very entertained and the older crowds, if they give it a try will probably find it a bit amusing at some points.

I honestly enjoyed it and found it entertaining at points and I even felt like dancing along to the beat. It is a big change, but I think the show won't "ruin the park" like so many may believe.

One could wonder whether the stage is Generic enough that they could still run this during Howl-O Scream Days. But then again ( as always) the specificness of props needed for each show could get in the way.

RE: Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm (2012)

Well, I think they could pull off Fiends with this set, they may changes up some dances and such to accommodate, but to be honest, it really is like the original stage just on steroids and beefed up, plus it has trap doors that I am sure will come in handy for Fiends. Also, the use of the new three backstage entrance/exits could be very well used. My only issue is, how can they transform the sets (castle, gingerbread house, etc) to fit Fiends. Also, if you look closely, they pump fog into the Festhaus through the gingerbread house chimney. It adds a more mystical element to the theater.

RE: Entwined: Tales of Good and Grimm (2012)

As long as the show has dark elements to match V-bolt's theme, there's no need to transform the show into Fiends during HOS. They can keep the show running until Christmas Town.

Oh and I saw some footage of the preview today. It looks pretty good.
