Actually, according to Carl, the whole sign that says "Fun begins here" will be changed for Howl-o-Scream, Christmas Town and perhaps maybe even Illuminights. Entertainment was in charge of designing the sign, and they planned it out so that they could switch out the sign for something else for special events and such. Another pre-planned for special events thing.

Amazon's price:

It's a shame, they could have sold a vinyl version instead and have been way more legit. Hell, I want an entire record store. If they are going for 60's England it'd work perfectly, and people wouldnt complain so much.

They had Yellow Submarine in Vinyl?????? Ok, I'm going in there next time & find out the price.

Then again, I spent $36 for a 180gram vinyl remastered copy of the White Album & I doubt very much they'd carry that at BG....LOL

They do NOT have the vinyl. It is a metal sign made to look like it though. Kinda cool... $14.95.

I want some Downton Abbey merch! Also, Monty Python would also be nice. I mean, Eric Idle was in Pirates... might as well tie in my favorite comedic Brits into the store!

And Now for Something Completely Different?

Sherlock Holmes anyone? Seriously... the popularity of the BBC's Sherlock? Hmmm... I deduce they missed the boat on that one.

Busch Gardens Merch Department: this post was for you. :)

I move that everyone that works in that shop should act like the characters from "Are You Being Served?" LOL "Mr Humphries, are you free? YES! I'm free!" OH!! How much fun would it be to have a "Mrs Slocombe" talk about her "pussy" all day....."If I'm not home by the STROKE of six, my pussy goes mad!" HAHAHA!! Best Brit show EVER!!

I love "Are you Being Served." I also enjoyed "Keeping up Appearances".

Quote: The Bucket residence, the lady of the house speaking! ~ It's my sister Violet! She's the one with the Mercedes, swimming pool, and room for a pony.

Oh- and BlackAdder! Mr. Bean. Benny Hill... the list goes on and on.

Finally got to see/look through the Union Jax shop today.

It was 96 degrees, so what do we do? We walk through AC buildings aimlessly. I'm happy I strolled through it.

First of all, the layout and structure of the store is spot on. I know it's a "Ye Olde World" park, but I love the vibrancy of it. The feeds of London are hypnotizing. I stood in front of each of the screens for a good five minutes each. When you look to the ceiling you also see the rafter motif carried over from the Emporium, which is a wonderful pop of color.

Second - the merchandise itself. Now let me level with you. I am not, nor have I ever been, some diehard Park fanboy. I was never a coaster fanatic or connoisseur of food and wine festivals. I've always been drawn to the park because of my field of study (site planning), so I really don't own a bunch of merchandise outside of a Griffon inaugural season shirt and a snowglobe or two.

I could have bought the store.

Seriously, the merchandise in there is just awesome, not to mention the fact that it's VARIED. They couldn't have more than 8 shirts on a rack before a completely new article of clothing or decor was introduced. It's fantastic. And this never should to stop. I wish we could get back to the country-specific merchandise (outside of Capidimonte and Waterford). Make shopping a hunt.

I want an Ireland shirt Mommy!!
Ok well we're going to have to travel to Ireland then!

^This is what Retail's mentality should be. (I think this is their actual mentality, but you really begin to discover this with Union Jax). I'm perfectly fine with the Empo. having an array of merchandise from the countries, but don't have it all.

Oh and finally, the Empo. also looks very well done. The displays above the shelves are really well thought out, with each country having its own display, with accompanying "antiques" complementing the specific country's culture. Really great touch there. And finally, look at the wall opposite the fireplace. The "castle gate" opens out onto an image of a real English village. Love this.

Just when you thought the renovation was over with the new show, there is tons more. Literally, I am slightly interested in this bit of information the most but from what I have been told the park is highly interested in getting a London Eye type ferris wheel ride for England. I honestly do not see it coming anytime soon, but it has peaked the interest of park executives enough to be put on plans, or at least their wish list :p I wish I had more detailed information about this but unfortunately it is just one of those things I just can't scrape all the details up at the moment.

I hope they get one. They can make it the tallest Ferris wheel in an amusement park, then use that as advertising, unless they just want to create another cartoon. :p
