I have had that problem on other lap bar coasters but thankfully not El Toro.

Comfort wise on Toro I've only had problems with sitting in the front of each of the cars, as they have a lower verification threshold than the middle or back of the cars.
 
Basically, seatbelts are a shame... unless the main restraint fails. Hmm. Has that ever happened on a coaster and the seatbelt saved the day?

Restraint failures per se are extraordinarily rare.

Meaningful human errors involving restraints are more common, though still very rare. With "meaningful" errors being contributory to substantial injury or death of an occupant. I wouldn't count a human error as a restraint failure, unless the restraint design was so poor as to actively encourage repeatable human error. I have seen that in (e.g.) early-90s Chrysler seat belts, alarmingly -- but not on an amusement ride.

I'm sure there are isolated anecdotes of a restraint genuinely failing while the seat belt remained buckled. I once witnessed a weld failure on an old wooden coaster's lap bar, though the ride neither had nor needed seat belts. That was 25 years ago. Haven't personally witnessed once since.

But I have known the reverse to happen much more frequently, since the seat belt is actually the far less-secure device between the two.

I did until my latest visit Sunday and didn't think about it until seeing this! I think they may have changed them. It was the dual lever Intamin buckle like I305 etc. sitting nicely to the side. I seem to recall a huge automotive buckle like at SFA but right in the middle (it's been 2 years). Since having it under the bar was out of the question, it was loose enough to flap around and twice ended up SIDEWAYS between the bar and me despite me barely fitting under it. Man did that hurt. After that I always ended up holding on to it. Did they actually fix it?!?

This may be a stupid question, but do Six Flags parks happen to sell nanocoasters of other SF park's rides? I would like to get the El Toro nano coaster as an xmas gift, but I don't think I'm going to make it to SFGAdv before xmas. If they have them at SFA I could go there no problem, though.

They do have El Toro, the problem is the shipping makes it cost more than I want. Free shipping at $50, I think, but I don't want to spend that much. So was hoping I could just buy it at SFA. I don't want it enough to pay the shipping. I guess I'll just wait until I can get to SFGAdv, but that won't likely be until next season. Oh well.

Someone was probably being stupid and trying to record their ride. This ride isn't as good as Grizzly at KD is.

Mainly because if you do try and record on your phone on grizzly at KD it’s pretty much a guarantee youll lose your phone… and you probably won’t ever get it back because of its setting.

Never dawned on me until this view of it how much the end of El Toro looks very similar to the B&M interlocking corkscrew elements like at the end of Dominator.

For my 100th credit, I couldn't have been happier to make El Toro it. Wow, just like with VelociCoaster I knew this was going to be a great ride but, WOW. I was floored by the ride, almost literally!

First, im a sucker for speed chain lifts. I didn't realize it had one, so that was a joy. I loved the turn around at the top, gave some nice views before the wild ride. I was in the very back row, left side for my first ride. I was not ready for that pull into the first drop and the first two camel backs are insane! This ride is relentless! I couldn't stop laughing and screaming with my hands up as the positive Gs got me. I didn't find the back rough at all, as someone who rode Grizzly before it's retrack. (Though it is kind of hard to equate the two, outside of being Woodies.) I got one ride in the front row, that was a bit more rough in the second half but still amazing. I was so impressed, I ditched the houses the last few hours and just lapped this monster over and over.


I'm a huge fan of Pantherian (love having KD as my home park) and El Toro delivered in tandem! I got about 18 rides in on Saturday, my legs turned to mush! I am very much looking forward to getting back to GA for this bull alone! Shout out to the OPs, on freaking point, super fun and great energy!

As someone who rode it recently, I to found it way more janky in the front than the back. Ill ride it in the back a few times but the front was 1 and done for me.

Also I could be wrong but el toro is a cable life
