So I assume these kids were in attendance without a chaperone in violation of said policy?

Who knows if the story they've told her is true or not, but if the kids were in the park without their qualified chaperone, a ban is justified for them regardless of how the actual fight took place.

I usually never write here on park fans, as I come here daily to see what's new in the coaster/park world, but I was a witness to this incident at Grizzly on Sunday night. I was in the back row on the same train as the people involved in this fight. Heck, I got hit by the spit that was mentioned.

Does your impression of what happened match what the kids' mother claimed?

Sorry you got spit on. Glad nothing worse happened!

Getting spit on justifies saying like "Dude, not cool. Don't be gross." Going Fight Club on someone though is a bit much.

Would be super interested to hear from witnesses. If that guy and his friend just started hitting the kid, then yeah, F that guy. Getting spit on is gross, but not to the level of throwing punches as a freaking adult. Throw the 30 year old and his friend in jail and ban them if that's the case. But I'm curious to hear from witnesses with no skin in the game how it escalated and if it matches up with what that post says.

In all seriousness, sorry you had to witness that. Definitely ruins a day, if not more.

This’ll probably be a long read, but here’s my observation on what happened:

I was seated in the very back seat on this train. I had also been marathoning Grizzly since about 8:15, as it had by far the shortest line of my favorite coasters in the park. We were going down one of Grizzly’s largest drops (1st or 2nd), and I felt the spit hit me. Several large drops of spit, and I knew instantly that it was spit. The thought of a conflict did not occur to me for the rest of the ride. As a coaster enthusiast, I’m usually one of the very first people off of the train. Given that the time was 8:55pm, my goal was to get one more ride before the park closed. So I was the first one off the train and down the ramp. As I was about halfway down the first ramp (right before it turns around and the ramp goes towards the lift hill), I turned around and saw and heard a commotion in the station. There I saw 2 guys punching back and forth/struggling/tugging/yelling at each other, you name it. My view was partially blocked by the wooden fencing that surrounds the station so I didn’t get complete context of what was happening. I’m glad I didn’t go any closer, as one of the 2 people in question got away and started running down the ramp towards me and my friends, with the “aggressor” right behind him. I started sprinting down the ramp and I swear I jump cleared the stairs at the bottom of the ramp. Fortunately, the fight did not reach me, as it got to the ramp turnaround and that’s where the one person presumably got beat up really bad from what I could see. I got out to the plaza and started yelling for someone to get security, which someone did. They showed up about a minute or 2 later and ran up the exit ramp. Medics showed up shortly thereafter as well. Meanwhile I was back up in the station hoping to get another ride, but in an understandable fashion, they never reopened the ride. I assume some people that were on the same train were attempting to break up the fight and that the one dude was injured enough where I heard someone shout from the exit ramp “Call 911” quite loudly. As the boarding side of the station cleared and we walked back down the entrance ramp, the person that was clearly doing most of the punching was in the hands of security, and was shouting the N-word and did not care about what security was telling him in that moment. His fist had a sizable streak of blood on it. They proceeded to take him away and after telling some curious bystanders what I saw and talking with some fellow enthusiasts, we walked out of the area and out of the park thinking about how our day had ended.

^^-- The fight was supposedly between an adult and "young boys" which seems to be missing in your account. Were these boys perhaps not as small as implied? From her description of what happened, action was taken as if the boys threw the first punch (post-N-word?). Also the mother does claim to have been there, but unclear where.

^^ — I will reiterate that I never directly saw who was being targeted, as I was on the ramp so I couldn’t see the faces clearly of the people involved. Based on what I could see though, it appeared that whoever was being targeted was initially pinned down in the seats of the train getting punched repeatedly before the conflict continued onto the exit ramp. Could be wrong though, but that’s what appeared to happened based on where I was standing. I could not tell if there were 2 people being targeted by the one guy.

In the comments on Facebook she said her son is 16 almost 17, never said the age of the friend.

One thing that has concerned me this year is the seemingly much sparser security presence and what seems to be a much more hsnds off approach to small issues. The last few years during the summer season i would see almost no smoking or line cutting at tgd park and in cases that I did see it security and staff were usually pretty quick to say cut itout that has not been the case this year in my experience. The broken windows theory of security where taking small offenses seriously seemed to be paying of for the park in previous years I worry that since tgey don't appear to be doing that this year that when we get to Haunt snd the traditional ruff crowd that we could be in fore a ruff ride.

For what it’s with, security was everywhere when I visited on Monday. I must’ve seen 5 security officers in the main part of Jungle X alone. Maybe they called in all their security staff after the incidents over the weekend?
The problem is that security has been reactive versus proactive as of late. Not excited to see how Haunt ends up.
