On to Dominator in my reviews of first rides. I loved the fact this coaster was a walk on both Friday and Saturday except maybe two rides. It definitely gives me flash backs to Hulk on a smaller scale. I imagine that this is what they may be trying to do now with the Hulk upgrades. It's like B&M tried to get all the elements into one coaster. This was my prep ride for a day of coaster riding. I'm usually nervous, but this one wasn't super high or super fast. Perfect ride to start and it doesn't disappoint. From the loop, to the cobra roll, to the station flyover.. Then it keeps going out to the amphitheater end to the cross over rolls. It's a great ride. And I feel like they didn't trim brake it off the brake run in the AM, but had a noticeable slow down later in the day. I remember it just gliding right off the end of the brake station. Very fun coaster especially right out of the literal front gates. These are the kinds I enjoy most. As for the rattle, I think it had a little bit, but not enough to deter me from riding it 5x a day.

Well KD's coaster toubles continue Dominator went down yesterday and is NOT reopening for the remainder of the holiday weekend according to a staff member that I talked to. Hopefully that bad info but it looks like there are no plans to open it.

Well if the chain broke with the train on the lift, that's not exactly a quick fix. I'm not saying that's what happened, only that repairs can get very complex under certain circumstances.

I di find it a little concerning that therr seem to have been a fair number of down coasters in the park this year and a fair number of cases of ones being down for extended periods of time.

^This. In the past month, all three of the park's headline coasters (I305, Volcano, and Dominator) have been closed for extended periods of time. Not only does this raise questions about the park's maintenance, but it also looks terrible from a guest's point of view.

It was disappointing to pull into the lot on Sunday and see Dom sitting on the hill. Not a soul was working on or around the ride either all day. It's really the first thing you see and sets the excitement level. Volcano went down a few times too apparently, but not in the 1.25 hours we waited in line to ride it luckily.

According to Kings Dominion's website, Dominator is now a Fast Lane Plus-only attraction, meaning effective this weekend guests with regular Fast Lane will not be able to skip the line. Dominator will join Volcano and Intimidator 305 as the park's third Fast Lane Plus-only ride.

However, starting this weekend Delirium is no longer Fast Lane Plus-only and its front-of-the-line privileges are now open to regular Fast Lane users.

Yesterday I went to the park for the first time this season. I was so happy that the stairs and the bridge at the exit were no longer shaking as they have in the past. That really got out of control and I'm glad they fixed it.

At KD rn, decided to post these while waiting for FoF.

is there a reason why dominator's inversion is not the same color as the rest of the track?

I thought it was yellow to highlight the fact that it held the record at least at the time for the tallest loop.

Oh, when I rode yesterday, it was running 2 trains, but there was no third train in the mech bay. Anyone able to explain why?
