People still struggle to load Wind Seeker and those seats are numbered. When you get in line they tell you remember your number and then tell it to you and most people just wander around, even though they were also standing on their number while in line. I think the number or color system could work, as long as someone is there to guide just like Mach Tower like you pointed out.

I was sitting directly behind said cast member the other day on the wall. I witnessed a guy grabbing another girls chair with his feet and kicking her chair forward, spinning her around during the ride cycle. He did this at least three times. The bullhorn was never used. I began to wonder why the cast member was positioned there if not to prevent situations just like this.

Luke and I watched the same last night. Some teenaged hooligan was grabbing onto and kicking off of his friend's seat over and over again and the spotter did nothing. If the park is going to go through the trouble of paying someone to stand there with a bullhorn, they better make sure that person is actually doing the job they've been put there to do.

As a side note, why are there handles on the back of Wirbelwind's seats to begin with?! It seems like the park is begging for trouble.

Just watch a little kid nearly fall from the ride. To be clear she had apparently been horsing around far side of the ride so I can't say exactly what she was doing and was knocked out of her seat. Thankfully her parent was able to grab her and was holding her by the arms below the seat. Ride opp should get BIG propsfor immediately hitting the emergency stop when people started screaming. Also lots of credit to the security and medical focus who were instantly on the seen but thankfully not needed. Scary as heck.

I am very glad that the girl wasn't hurt. ^ First Aid TMs are almost everywhere, hiding in plain sight. They are very quick to respond. I'm surprised that this didn't surface on the news.

What does the park do to keep the media quiet in these scenarios?

I have no idea. It's possible given that it was a quick event with no injuries that it just never was reported to any news outlet. It was shortly after the ride had started and was only up maybe 10-15 feet and still moving slow so it may just not have appeared worthy of reporting to the news. Honestly if I had not been sitting at a table eating a pretzel when the people started screaming I don't know that I even would have picked up in time what was happening to know about it.

It is kinda odd, when you consider that there was a helicopter circling SFA for ages, when the Superman train got stuck on the lift hill. This seems more serious.

Well a stuck coaster provides footage to put on tv, whereas by the time the media actually got to the park would they even be let inside to take footage of the ride (minus a person hanging from it)? The best they could do is shove a reporter outside of the park and share the story, when it isn't that much of a story to say what happened.

It just seems not worth the effort since nobody got hurt. If someone got hurt, news would be all over it. Its kinda twisted but welcome to the world we live in.

My understanding was that part.of thdr issue there was that park guests call 911 and the fire department was dispatched. News outlets often monitor emergency radio channels and could hase picked up on it that way. In this case there would have nothing other then a report from a witness and any video or pictures that someone had if they happened to be shooting the ride at the time since it was stopped and brought to an end quickly. I am sure the park would wait to see if they were asked about it before putting out a statement in this case I am guessing that it just simply didn't last long enough or attracted enough attention to register on the radar of the news outlets.

Der Wirbelwind has been taken down. Do they completely dismantle it every off season or only if there is major repairs needed. Didn't they recently paint it and give it a new vinyl top in the past 3 years?
