Nowadays, it seems like they make sure adults have the option to fit into these sort of rides (i.e. Grover's Alpine Express). No more letting your kids wander off and ride things by themselves. Guess it is too much of a liability issue now.

Yes all of the kiddie rides at BGW seem to be family friendly, even the ones in Land of Dragons.

Each row on Das Kätzchen only had a T-bar restraint shared by both riders. That wouldn't work with an adult and a small child as the latter would not be properly secured in.

Alpenghöst, the chances of that happening are almost as rare as finding bigfoot. But crazy as it sounds... that is me and my brother.

Here is a picture of us around the same time. I always wore my hair in side pigtails and yarn ribbons. Not only that.. but my brother always wanted to ride the left side of any ride. This is certainly us in the photo. I think that is my brother's red Spiderman shirt he always wore too.

We have very few pictures of us at the park growing up as my parents did not have tons of money and film was expensive for them. Seeing this really freaked me out. What are the odds?

Anyway, Unagi- from the site: Danny Biggerstaff I rode this in the late 70s, my first coaster. I can't believe I finally have seen a pic, I could not locate one and I have searched. I would like to submit this to RCDB if that is ok with BGW Memories?

I thought you should be the one to approve this request.

I'm still shaken up by the photo. Wow.

Yeah I don't mind. You can take credit for it if you want. You are in the pic after all! :p

Thanks, but I want BGWFans to get the credit. It was posted here first. Besides, this was the greatest present I could have ever received. Who knows.. maybe I am in some of your other old photos. :D

I'm sure CoasterCrew would be happy to take the credit if you asked. :V

As someone stated above, the kiddie coaster sat along the side of the ravine near the gift shop (name?) where you could cut through to the east side of Octoberfest area to get to the Spider, swings, and the trabant. It sat along side the path coming from the carousel to the festhaus.

Man those are some basic trains :p But I like the video a lot. I gives me a slight 3D feel for whatever reason at points. I wish we had more pictures and videos of older times at the park.

Don't tell me you made an appearance in this video of the ride, Nora! :D

Nope! But I was looking. Wouldn't that have been hilarious! In all serious though, we were at the park almost every day growing up. I would not be surprised if my brother and I were in more photos that may surface in years to come.

I remember when my sister and I were very young ridding this ride over and over while my father and his friends were on Glissade. I seem to recall that it was not terribly fast and very curvy, but as I say, we were quite young at the time.
