All the sarcasm

Lets parse this...

Yes it was a ride at BGW but is there a time span for when a ride becomes a classic? Because to me this ride is not that old. But then again... Maybe it is just perspective. I like to think 25 years is classic at a minimum. This does not hit that mark, but again maybe there is a rule out there like the one for antique VA tags on cars.

what like participation awards? That is very 1st grade of you!

I'm not sure you can debate weather or not a person likes something. Preference is, by definition, subjective...

But I am not sure that matters either...

I didn't mean classic as in aged. I meant classic in that it was one of the few rides put into BGW that embodied what BGW means (or once meant); theming and passion for quality. Regardless on if you liked it, the ride was a quality attraction. Yes the years weren't kind, but it was like nothing else seen at a regional park before when it opened. Other rides on this playing field of "classic" include Bolt, Questor, CSH, Pompeii, just to name a few. Good, quality rides you could see at a Disney or Universal park and not think twice about whether or not that ride belonged there. (With respect to their time periods).

Who said anything about just participation? How about something closer to one of the best dark rides ever made by a regional theme park? Because in reality, it was, simply because of what kind of ride it was. The amount they put into this ride was damn impressive for a regional park when most just buy rides off the shelf. If that level of effort at a regional park isn't worth commending, then I'm not sure what is.

I apologize for improperly wording my sentence. I could've said whether the ride was good or not. I would hope you could develop an argument better than just picking on my wording however.

You are allowed to dislike the ride, I totally understand the complaints against it. My point is that you cannot rob the ride of the respect it deserves.

I agree with this. I think when BGW was a marketing tool for Busch, they could justify the additional risk and money associated with original, higher level, and more creative endeavors. The Enchanted Lab was another excellent example of that. It would be nice to see SEAS find a way to incorporate more room for creativity and risk into their business model, and still make the numbers work. Otherwise, I'm afraid we'll only see more BfE quality attractions in the future, and that would be sad.

I imagine a future BGW with coin operated carousel horses with Patrick Star riding them. Curse of DarKastle may not have stood the test of time, but at least it was an attraction and it’s early day that other parks could look up to. I wonder if they could have saved it by continuing to update it, or even maintain it. Would it have still gone out of popularity if they could perform routine maintenance?

Yes if the park continued to maintain the ride, it would still be around. I don't recall it really being that unpopular. The only issue I had with it was the dated visuals and losing the special effects. Lack of effects I can somewhat forgive. Disney and Uni are known for letting animatronics and special effects go bad after a couple of years. I just wish the park at least did an HD upgrade with the video like Uni did with Spiderman.

I still have hope for a revamp once frostbite moves out. Maybe move demented dementions to the vault XX building and retheme the outside a bit due to the wolves being sold. I still have hope, although I doubt it will come back. We miss you King Ludwig!

Seeing as how the entire track and all ride theming were ripped out... I doubt it could qualify for a "revamp." If they added a dark ride in there again it would have to be entirely new.

I bet they could even take the old sleighs, and assuming they are in good condition, save some money by replacing the movement mechanism and updating the software. If the model isn't too outdated.

You would think that, but this is bgw we're talking about. And how long did it take for them to announce Tempesto?

Though I honestly don't believe that the rumor has any weight at all.
