See I don't think you realize but we have a world class dark ride and you want to replace it with generic flats I can find at Six Flags. Wow, just wow. This is sad that you would want to replace a attraction like this. Now if we were talking about a lower quality dark ride like Europe in the Air that would be understandable because very few people like it. DarKastle may be bland and boring after a while but it still blows the other darkrides away. This ride also was not cheap, it cost a lot and remember this is a chain regional park. In my opinion we need another Darkastle darkride to our collection because were lacking in it. It's an experience that is original and could be something a park in Orlando could do.

Don't get ahead of your self. It's good but figuratively speaking it's a Honda, not a Bentley.

It was a world class dark ride when it opened, but the park doesn't feel like investing anything into improving it. Now they're just lowering it's intensity, progressively making it a boring ride. In 2005 it was no doubt one of the best Dark rides in the world, but now, not so much....

Okay, perhaps I should clarify. I do not enjoy any ride sims. In general I would prefer a park spend money on a coaster. I recognize that DK is impressive, however it bores me. Of course I do not actually think they should install a flat, I was speaking elliptically. Do I think they could reset it with a new story and upgrades? Haven't a clue, I am not qualified to speak to that.

I would like to see more stuff indoors, I would love to see a cool modern ride inside a dark building, similar to flight of fear.

I like dark rides so I disagree with Zimmy. However, I get the feeling BGW doesn't know what to do with dark rides.

I still think a Sally shooter like Boo Blasters on Boo Hill would be a perfect fit for Europe in the Air's space, with excellent replay value.

I would like to see a fully inclosed large ride at BG just in general. I point to Flight of Fear for reference purpose only, not as a guide to level of quality.

I feel like the terminology is very mixed up here. DarKastle is not a simulator. A simulator is where you sit in a theater, a single room and a single platform moves the audience watching a movie.

A dark ride is a ride that moves along a track incorporating scenes sometimes using live props like robots or sometimes using 3D videos.

A dark ride is a type of simulator in a sense, but to call it a simulator does not really accurately portray the rides design.

Clearly theexpozay wants a flat ride or roller coaster in a fully enclosed building which would allow much more themeing for those types of rides. Like Tradewinds, but in an actual building with more theming and effects, or probably like Verboltens event building.

I appreciate how sophisticated the systems can be. As a technologist and computer engineer I am truly intrigued by how the systems work. As a former lighting and set designer I am impressed by the effects and stage craft.

to be frank in some ways these are the most complicated and rides in the park(s)

Despite all of this anytime 3d effects are involved the ride is completely lost on me. I recognize that a park needs more than roller coasters and "extreme" rides to exist, but ultimately when it comes down to it I am a coaster snob and ultimately, no matter how good the darkride is, find that I would prefer to wait online for coaster.

Dark rides can be so much more than what DarKastle is... just look at Forbidden Journey.

While I agree that the Technology used for the ride system is quite amazing, I think the ride fails to do some of the most basic things that DarKastle does.
For example, the screens on that ride could drive me insane. Many of them are blurry, and it's not in 3-D. Sometimes, you can even see the floor of the show building.
Those are all also examples of things that you are not supposed to see in DarKastle. However, I agree that at this point, with so many other great dark rides out there today, DarKastle is in desperate need of a rehab to say the least. I think it would be even better if they could implement more scenarios that interact with physical scenery, similar to Forbidden Journey. I particularly enjoy the whomping willow tree, the tormentor, and the dragon. If DarKastle could have even one animatronic of that size, I would be ecstatic.

Yes, they toned down the motion again about a month or two ago. They started by just removing the spinning, then they gradually made the ride less exciting. Sadly, the reason for all of this is because of the new rule as of last year, which requires entertainment department people to ride the ride. This means they have to ride it whether they want to or not. While they all know about entertaining people, and producing shows they are not all built to ride thrill rides. Therefore one complaint ruins the ride for everyone. Also, it might take a while for them to make any adjustments, if they ever do. They only ride the rides as frequently as they are required to.

thanks for the giggle
