I was really hoping for a pin this year. However, looking at the gift shops it doesn't seem like pins are a thing they do anymore.
Ill have to get one for my husband, since he is still feeling the loss of darkastle. But it is sad that they took out the wolf statue. I just thought it was a pretty piece of artwork.mountaineers said:Still not to late to get a pressed penny though.

BGW Family said:We sat Saturday to watch the people going through the closed gate. No signage to explain it's closed (let alone it's gone forever) so most assumed they should walk in. After some wondering around, security eventually came at sent them away. They passed and we heard them say "I guess is closed for today." Congrats BGW for another well handled situation. I mean SOME kind of sign to explain ANYTHING is how hard?
Whitewashed, stripped naked, and closed. Axe, clock, ice, wolves and some shrubbery on the side are gone. I'm surprised they let the shields stay.
They used it last season for Santa and had no affect on the area. I do miss being able to casually walk by and see him in his workshop.Peej1212 said:it will definitely be missed on our upcoming trip. I hope they find a really good use for the area. I hope that if they do use it for something like Santa it wont terribly bog down that area during CT.

I know! My favorite game was playing "Cry or No Cry" as the kids sat on Santa's lap! Now I can't see Santa or the elves.
