I don’t think that BGW will do passports because Florida and Texas won’t allow em, so how could they reasonably say that there is a need, when a hotter more populated state doesn’t require them, and those states still have decreasing cases.

Florida and Texas don't decide what's right for the whole country.

I'd like to point out that Alpengeist and Loch Ness Monster are open tonight. Wasn't Alpengeist only supposed to be Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays? And Loch Ness Monster not supposed to be open yet?

That's excellent news! Thanks for the tip! I'm gonna tweet it now.

The new CDC guidance only applies to vaccinated individuals. Why are people pretending like it changes anything in mixed vaccine status spaces? Without vaccine passports, businesses will likely need to keep mask mandates. I'm not clear on why these updates would change VDH's guidelines.
I think the argument at this pointbis that vaccines are widely available at this point. If you choose not to get one that is your choice and other individuals are not responsible for taking action or making sacrifices to protect you from your decision and the possible consequences of it. Please note I am listing the argument I hear there not my personal belief.

Counter to that and my actual view on this is. Yes the vaccine is widely available for adults and has been for a while. But a limited available authorisation only happened a few days ago fir 12-18 year Olds and there is still nothing available for under 12. Yes cases tend to be milder in those age groups but especially at places like theme parks where there are a significant number of people that falk into that demographic it is important to use mask and protect them.

Finnigan is down for the day that might explain it somewhat. Also Alpie has open late into the night the last two Thursdays and has been open Fridays.

Update it's definitely the team that usually runs Finnigan running her so this might a once off.

Do they represent the whole country? No. But have they gone months with optional restrictions and not burned down, yes. Like I said before BGW will continue a mask mandate even after any rules go away to err on caution, see BGT

Lot of truth here. People love to discount those states because they don’t agree with their stance on something.

Yeah, pre-vaccination those were the two queues that always made me most uneasy (although I never sat through the Verbolten queue at any time where it was backed up into the ticket booth). Something about that final stretch of the Loch Ness queue feels really closed off, and Griffon's queue just feels claustrophobic.

Agree slightly with Lochness..the rest are “outside” IMO

No boats running but this was open today for people to walk around and sit in the shade. Now if only Pantheon would test for shot from down low.

I know many of you have been mentioning June 15th as some sort of "target date" when some restrictions might be lifted for VA, but up here in Ohio we were all quite shocked to hear our governor suddenly announce that all restrictions will be lifted June 2nd yesterday in a press conference. In between now and then there is a new push to get vaxed, including a lottery for 12-17 year olds (weekly drawings for a full-ride to any Ohio college/university) and a lottery for 18 + ($1 million!)...these drawings will be held for 5 consecutive Wednesdays starting May 26th. My wife and I are fully vaxxed, and our 13 year old daughter is getting shot #1 next week, so I guess we're in a lottery-like-no-other.

Here is a curious case to watch. Hersheypark, as of 2 hours ago, said (because of the new CDC guidelines) said masks and social distancing will no longer be required for the fully vaxed. Up until that announcement the guidelines were very similar to BGW.

What they don't say is how this is going to be regulated; that will be the interesting part to watch, as well the ripple effect these new guidelines will have on parks across the country.

I drank out of the water fountains all of the notorious 2020 and will again. Yeah saw I could get a bottle of water in 2 minutes for the price of 15 minutes labor.

They can require vaccine passports the moment they're ready to refund my money. Fortunately, the numbers are doing so good that by the time they could implement a passport system I expect people will see that and won't be standing for it. If things continue at the current rate, we'll hit 0 in 2.5 weeks. https://www.google.com/search?q=vir...i61j69i65l3.2714j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

I mean let’s be real if they say bring the vax card, they’re most likely only gonna check it at the gate so it’s more of a facade as people who want to take it off will most likely be able to.

Not that I am advocating for this, but they easily could have a voluntary station where one can show their vaccination card in exchange for a colored wristband.
Anyone with that wristband would be allowed to keep their mask off.

That way no one would be forced to show that they are vaccinated.

Again, not saying that they should do this, just pointing out that there would be feasible solutions to follow the new guidelines for vaccinated people without getting into forcing people to have vaccination passports.

Per Northams tweet, sounds like VA isn’t moving immediately to CDC guidance and will rather be reviewing it before changing policies.

Now see I take his tweet as saying all along Va has done what the CDC recommended and he will continue to follow what they recommend. This means that with this new announcement they will follow the new recommendation of no masks.

I mean, that’s BASICALLY using the vaccine card as a passport. And frankly, expecting people to travel with it is pretty unlikely, and the logistics of verifying them (probably by cross-referencing DOB with an ID) would be slow and dicey.

I don’t think there’s a feasible way to actually definitively verify this in a country that isn’t willing to create a formal passport system that could sync up with business’ existing infrastructure.

Good luck…..BGW can’t even get their passes to work correctly with the system they created…..just look at the dining and drink plans.

Edited to add…..anyone that thinks anywhere will require you to carry a piece of paper around in your pocket that is not replaceable is crazy. Even birth certificates people don’t carry around with them and keep them in a secure place even those can be replaced. If you lose or destroy your vaccine card you can not get a replacement.

Will be interesting to see what gets done in Virginia now that the CDC can't be used as the reason. Also keep in mind the governor is stuck between a rock and a hard place here, as wearing masks in public is forbidden by state code outside of declared emergencies.

I’m happy to keep a photo of my vaccine card on my phone and show it in exchange for a wristband.
If they take photocopies…..

All the information on the card is in the vaccination registry. It can be replaced.
Wrong…..we were among the very first to be offered vaccines. The day that happened a coworker had to wash their contaminated uniform. They didn’t realize untill the end of the drying cycle when everything was covered in shreds of paper they had washed it. This was even before they had provided a copy to the employer and last I heard they still hadn’t figured out what to do because the local health dept said there is no way to get another or replacement card.

Yeah when I got my vaccine they didn’t “check out any vials or write anything down, they only wrote on my card, and even then it’s just one lot number, which I can guarantee isn’t unique to me, because other relatives have the same lot number.
