No, we have processes and procedures—and shitcanning isn't one of our options.

I know it's all very opaque until something final happens, but I assure everyone that our systems are functioning. Always feel free to contact an admin or a panel member with concerns though!

it’s common sense. If kids can be 3 feet apart safely, adults can too.

We don’t need a study to know that. It’s simply common sense.
"Common Sense," aka, "Truthiness," Is about as useful as teats on a boar hog in the world of science. The thing about common sense is that it assumes everyone draws from the same set of experiences and knowledge. They do not.

For years common sense said sugar makes kids hyperactive. It does not.

Common sense is like Astrology. It sounds really good, but in the end is nothing but bull shit.

I understand the caution with the 6 feet versus 3 feet. I would put that in the “don’t know” column since sometimes CDC is running behind because they wait for research. They were behind WHO on this particular school research.

I am also still anxious to see the results that these mask-free states have in about another 4-5 weeks (usually results are delayed, plus I want a good amount of results). Their results plus the speed of vaccination could mean really good things for this summer!

THIS.

So much of COVID is political now, but despite all that who believes in what and yaddayaddawhocares, I think it will be insanely interesting what we see with continued monitoring of the densely populated areas of Texas and Florida that are not running strict requirements when compared to places with similar population density that are having strict guidelines. At the very worst we just confirm that the guidelines have helped significantly and we will continue live how we already are, at the very best we could potentially have some more normalcy sooner than we thought ESPECIALLY in the form of the park being able to function a bit better. Get some more people in, up business, justify bringing in more workers, open up the portions of the park rn that aren't running full go, and that just means we get closer to Pantheon.

Just a few pictures on a non Pantheon front. Extended Queues are either setup or being stored near every open ride. Hopefully that will help with the social distancing complaints from last week. Also ride cleaning is definitely still going on though I can't say how frequent it is.

Motion to replace @Zachary with @horsesboy

Nah I'm yanking, but seriously good hustle mate you got a lot of goodies recently
I don't have nearly as good sources as the great one and I not nearly as good of a writer as he is. But there are advantages to BGW being on my daily commute and I am happy to help when I can.

While passing the park to check on Pantheon I spotted what appeared to be a contractor repainting the Germany parking area lines. Given that I doubt that there is a long wait for that type of work I wonder if this could be a hint that the park is looking at opening more stuff and needing the lit for higher guest counts soon.

After Miami Beach, this seems like not a good decision...

I'm not sure how one city in a different state's way of handling a curfew order in a public space for an unruly mob of tourists that gathered for a once-a-year experience is the same as regular orderly operations at a private theme park with regulated hours and capacity restrictions (Covid or fire marshal oriented fwiw)?

The Germany lot was half full when we visited the prior weekend. I'd be curious if they were painting walking cues.

I've seen numerous times this year where Busch Gardens has not been able to properly enforce things. I think it's a shame to jeopardize local covid progress. I used Miami Beach to show it can be hard to argue for people having the choice because many are not making good decisions.

Gov. Northam today announced capacity changes that are effective on 1 April (hope it's not a joke!) and one change allows outdoor entertainment venues to go up to 30% capacity. This should mean the park can increase it's capacity.

The park actually falls into a separate category then this. These rules deal with things like theaters, concerts venues and sports stadiums. The park already had higher limits but this might allow the to open some shows especially in the Royal Palace if they choose to do so.

Not a joke. Story available at local news outlets.

My question is what does BGW consider to be capacity? If 30K than I guess they can increase to 10K? Then you have to start to wonder about parking and running trams again. If the skip every other row on a tram that is going to be a nightmare.

The capacity numbers that are thrown around have run anywhere from 20-35k precovid. But covid capacity is not based on the park as a whole but what the park has open at the time so till we see more stuff on you won't see a large increase.

Thanks for the additional context - I'm curious if the same could be said if you more closely match the family demographic of the parks vs spring breakers though.
