Yep.Around the time the partial reopening plans came to light? ?
Honestly I feel like the hate toward the seaworld chain would make people mad if they had an employee or guest test positive and they kept the park open. A prime example would be Cedar Point and King’s Island, they both had at least 1 employee test positive and literally no one that I talk/listen to is talking about it. Hopefully that made senseMy biggest concern with reopening is that a spike in cases will cause the reopening to be short lived. We’re seeing this in other spheres right now. For instance, there is worry around Major League Baseball due to players on the Miami Marlins testing positive. Games are being postponed, and it could potentially put the season in jeopardy if other teams have players testing positive. If BGW opens and there are employees and/or guests who end up testing positive, it will look bad on the park’s part for trying to reopen this late in the season and amidst a pandemic. It’s a sucky reality, but I’m sure the park is thinking through every potential situation.
Guests and employees are going to get sick on occasion no matter what precautions you put in place. This is true for anywhere that is open as risk can’t be reduced all the way to zero. The main thing is avoiding super spreader events where dozens or hundreds of people get sick and create a local outbreak.Honestly I feel like the hate toward the seaworld chain would make people mad if they had an employee or guest test positive and they kept the park open. Same but, I believe if an employee or guest tests positive the park will take every necessary action to keep their guests safe. It’s the people and groups that hate SEAS that will try and make a big deal out of it by saying it’s their fault that there is a spike and they need to be shut down permanently.Oh I’m not worried about BGW being blamed for the spikes, but I fear the park itself would be collateral damage if we indeed revert back to phase II or something.

I have been to the parks a few times since they reopened. I was at SWO the first week they reopened and again when I went the week Disney reopened. There were definitely some issues the first visit. However my second trip was completely different. I saw very little non compliance and TMs who were actively ensuring that guidelines were followed and they were promoting safe practices. During my visit they were more on par with what I see when I go to the grocery store. Second time around was much closer to what I experienced at Disney. So I’ve seen mentioned before the argument that parks are going to be some of the safest places to go IF enforcement is up to snuff because you transmission rates are lower if people follow the rules. I understand that enforcement at Florida SEAS parks are, putting it very kindly, lacking. However, Northram seems to actually give a fuck about the virus and would probably have eyes on the ground making sure the park is doing what it can.

I was at SWO on the July 9th and at BGT on the 10th. BGT was definitely less successful than SWO was. Maybe this would be a reason why a partial reopening could make sense. Fewer staff means it is easier to ensure that they are all following guidelines. When was your second visit? When I was there on 15 July, SWO was a horror show. BGT was equally terrifying the day before.
