Yes, I think you might be right. He keeps teasing the idea on more lockdowns and with increased testing people with no symptoms that feel completely healthy can pop positive and never knew they were infected. I wonder though in past years how many people would have tested positive for the flu but never really felt sick enough to actually get tested. What if everyone was requiring flu tests in years past?

COVID-19 isn’t the flu and every time you pretend they’re equivalent, sane people hate you more.

If you’re going to continue to make non-park-related posts dedicated purely to downplaying the seriousness of COVID-19 in this thread, I will “hide” your nonsense propaganda in the Coronavirus Crisis thread.

Im not implying im out right saying it. Ocean Breeze got screwed over too when they tried opening following all the kings rules, they thought they were within guidelines and last minute they were not. And yes, the King has not been willing to work with the parks to acomplish a path to opening, that is very obvious and I would not doubt one bit if BGW anounced todat they would open with a 1000 limit that on Tuesday he would come out and say that do to the science and metrics that he is no longer comfortable with the 1000 peoson limit and that 750 or 500 is more reasonable. Then what does the park do, only honor 500 reservations, not open at all?

I know know you will move this to the political thread to hide it but this is exactly what I think will happen this week.

First, I do not appreciate your accusing me of censoring you, by asserting that when we move your partisan rants to the politics threads where they belong we are “hiding” them. In fact, I find this grievance particularly odd, since in February you spent the better part of a day lambasting me for not censoring people.

Second, it was the Department of Health that made the last minute changes that forced Ocean Breeze to close their slides.

Third, I am tired of your using this Forum as a platform for spreading conspiracy theories and insults. Unless you can provide evidence, you are just spewing slander. And calling the elected governor “king” is disrespectful to the office and rude.

I have, but nothing that I’m confident enough in (let alone able) to share.

Everything is fluid, but things sound very good this weekend. In my opinion, what happens early next week (possibility of restriction changes due to spikes in Hampton Roads) is the wildcard right now.
I can confirm that @Zachary is correct the park is in the final stages of a plan to reopen. Aspects keep changing but they are very to close to announcing a plan to reopen. My understanding is that they are awaiting feedback from the governor's office as to whether their plans would follow the guidelines. If they receive positive feedback and the governor doesn't announce a change to the restrictions due to the slight increases then I will expect an announcement any day after the governor's press conference on Tuesday.

Thanks for re-tracking the thread, @BGWnut!

This matches with what I know 100%.

One of the options, of many iterations, at the beginning of things was to have payments paused until re-opening. It was an assumption of why charges have been reinstated. That is what the word "seems" means. That is why there is wording about those who did not deferred receive the level upgrade. I persoanlly have no idea what they are up to. Caught up now?
I thought that option was to defer payments for 3 months? I never realized there was an option to defer until the parks reopened.

When you get responses like:

"Active annual passes, season passes, and membership products to (insert SeaWorld or Busch Gardens parks) will be extended by a period at least as long as the temporary closure."

Who knows what the real story was in the varied "answers". It could be that timeline expiring and just coincidence with apparent plans to open. If so, they only deferred me two months.

Edit: Looking back I see this history before they did whatever they did with my payments.
Edit: Don't y'all read every post in every thread to know I was deferred? Lazy.
Edit: The end of July as in paying for the coming August, I assume.

From this morning's one-on-one with Northam at WAVY:

Northam warns that if the numbers do not come down, state or hotspot guidelines could be adjusted to slow the spread of COVID-19.

“I just ask Virginians to do the right thing. We know that if we want to get our children back in school. If we want to get our amusement parks back up, our businesses back up we need to get this health crisis under control.”

Governor Northam says the commonwealth’s percentage of positive tests has improved overall (7.5%), but Hampton Roads has seen its percentages go above 10% in the last month, with some nearly as high as 20%. 10% was the original benchmark state officials said was needed to safely reopen.

Interesting him hear him cite the parks specifically here. Tomorrow's news conference is definitely the big variable right now. Right now, the reduction in "large gatherings" from 250 to 50 seems pretty likely, but it's unclear if this will be an issue for a partial opening of a park. But given that today's numbers are very high, and suggest increases in cases in areas outside of Hampton Roads (although with the asterisk that input lag is responsible for the increase in case numbers broadly), I'm skeptical that the state will let the park go ahead with opening if he's using it as a carrot of sorts to encourage compliance.

Yeah, that quote looks like really bad news for BGW. ?

Sorry I communicate in memes....

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but the quotes that we're used in the original WKTR article used several lines from the Health and Safety FAQ section. Unfortunately, I found out that this is a rather generic FAQ that is used for all SEAS parks.

Ironically, I had some relatives in town that we’re trying to book an Ultimate Animal Insider tour at the park for Wednesday. When they called to book the tour they were told “The opening is not confirmed, but it is expected the park opens the 29th.” Keep in mind this was before they changed the parks calendar, and I’m not sure how reliable random SEAS hotline employees could be, interesting information nonetheless. I could see July 29 be the date the park planned to open, but due to the spike in cases they decided to once again postpone the season.

Not that I’m bitter at all the assholes who are making this situation worse or anything...
Honestly I typically don’t agree with Governor Northam but I do agree with him on this, we have to wear masks if we want to slowly get back to a normal lifestyle. We have to work together to help slow the spread by social distancing, washing our hands, and avoiding large gathers that are either indoors or can not accommodate social distancing.

I don't think it's linked to from anywhere. I don't want to be responsible for a ton of people hitting buttons on a half-built webpage, but I'm sure if someone goes searching, they can find it.

Anyway, I already dug through the page, there's nothing too juicy hidden there yet. I'll be keeping tabs on it.
