Great job anti-maskers and anti-vaxers. Just as the industry was starting to recover too. 😡

Seriously, GET YOUR DAMN SHOTS. I want a maskless, plexiglassless Howl-O-Scream damn it!

Give me a fucking break....if I would have posted the word "anti vaxers" yall would have moved it to the politicol post page. Your just as bad as the main streem media blowing shit out of porportion. As @Memles just pointed out I wouldnt consider 3 cases "substancial". The breakthrough cases are what is substancial....those vaccinated folks that are getting sick with no symptoms and spreading it to others.

At this point untill Busch Gardens makes an official anouncement your post is nothing more than propoganda. Actually im more worried about those that are vaccinated that consider themselves Superman now and think that they are now immune to covid passing it to those that are health compromised and unable to get the shot.

At least the unvaccinated will feel a little ill giving them a warning sign that something is going on. But anyhow...ypu do you and I will still enjoy the park.

Things that don't need to come back to BGW because they are useless and only for show:
1) Temp checks
2) sanitizing a ride once an hour
3) having to wear masks walking around outside
Are you legitimately concerned any of these things could come back? (For the record, the sanitizing is the only one that even seems close to likely, and it would really be more for cold/flu than COVID at this point).

New information about emerging variants could very much cause any of these things to return. The science seems pretty settled on Delta being more transmissible, but I'm not sure what the actual mechanics of its increased transmissibility are. If it (or any other widespread variant) is notably more contagious via surfaces or via airborne transmission, it is totally within reason that we could see distancing, outdoor masks, sanitization, etc return.

I'll admit that temperature checks may be the least likely, but there's a world in which a particular strain's symptoms could feasibly justify that too.

Basically, never say never. We're far from being out of the woods yet.

I don't understand the dislike of temp checks. They are actually a decent deterrent for anyone with a fever of any sorts going to the park, and it literally only involves you having to walk through a tent on your way in.

The issue I have with temp checks is most people that are running a fever wouldn't feel like going to the park in the first place. Those that had a fever may have already took some sort of fever reducer.

It is just a walk through system so it's no big deal really

Wavy is reporting the Govorner of Va is reccomending wearing of masks indoors but not requiring them. I would say there is about a 0% chance BGW would require them because of the outlash they would recieve as well as the loss in business if they were to put them in place on their own. As far as any other previous measure....it costs money to do those things and they arent going to spend a penny unless they are required to.

I don’t think the calculus is that simple. They have to weigh various mitigation techniques in light of the backlash both for and against COVID measures; the threat of being perceived as causing the spread of Delta; and the resulting impact on income.

It's more an issue with parents taking sick kids with them and/or not being aware the kid is sick in the first place. It costs basically nothing from the customer side and the park isn't dealing with sick people in the park that either tough it out or were being pushed to go.

I feel like we talked about this for a whole year how the park dosent want to be tied to a "superspreader" location when now over a year later I dont know of any large venue causing a superspreader event. I think in the past year most sensable folks know no matter what they arent or not willing to do the contact tracing to track this reliably. The park surely knows this now and will make their changes or lack of changes in line with where the dollars flow.

Good job ignoring what I actually said.

what?

I noticed that one of the dancers in Celtic Fyre started wearing a mask on stage.

Don't know if there was some shift in policy or if it was a personal choice to stay safe in the current environment, but it thought it is interesting.
