I don’t want to hear anything g about guests not following rules, We just got on the train, me and my wife. An employee just came and told two other random people to sit in the row we are in. Kinda negates tge point of skipping rows as well. It dosent bother me but point is even if you were trying to follow the rules you can’t.

I would definitely agree that is a valid concern but I would add that doesn't match my experience TWICE tonight if staff cutting off boarding cause every free row had someone in it. In both cases I could see rows with a single person. I am not complaining about that as it WAS the right call in my opinion just using it to highlight that your experience appears outside of the norm.

On a side note I am seeing maybe only 25% mask usage and that is probably being generous in my estimate. Social distancing also appears to have been greatly reduced in practice.

They had a large party and the team
members squeezed them
all in in various rows it appeared. When we boarded we passed up row after row with one and two people in them and though we weren’t going to find one but did at the very front of the train. We tried to do the right thing skipping already occupied rows but guess the right thing dosent matter here. 45331CB5-49F1-478E-BB13-A673FA548868.jpeg

And again U am not arguing that it was right it clearly wasn't just highlighting for others that this is not the norm or the park's policy. If I were you I would bring it to someone's attention so it gets corrected and doesn't reoccur.

Regarding someone being turned away today for not having a reservation: Maybe the new barcodeless, theoretically-pass-integrated reservation system actually REQUIRES a reservation in the system now?

Doesn’t seem to be integrated though.

They scanned my membership code and then still wanted to see the reservation.
Since the reservation didn’t have a code on it they just looked at the date and let me through.

Does not seem to be a very secure system.

Don't think so as they scanned my pass and then made me show them the reservation before letting me in.

Busch had disposable mask available at a few locations where you come in close proximity to staff for use if you needed one.

Just had 2 random strangers without mask jump right next to me and my son on Alpengeist.

My son was off to the side and I am vaccinated so I let it slide, but was definitely not happy.

Then I had 2 kids without masks sit right in front of my kid on DaVincis Cradle.
I asked them to please put their mask on for the ride and they said that they don’t even have any.

I asked the operators about why the unvaccinated kids are allowed to ride without mask and was told that they aren’t allowed to ask or enforce any masks anymore.
Pointing out that one does not have to ask an 8 year old about their vaccination status because they can’t possibly be vaccinated did not seem to make any sense to them.

Yeah that is definitely an issue on the other hand the park's policy probably doesn't allow for tge average staff member (or possibly anyone) to address the subject with them. It may not be that it didn't make sense so much as they were indifferent because they been told not to do it. I know early into the pandemic we were told at work that only salaried members of management were allowed to address non complying customers about wearing a mask. The first week or so I was really thorough about explaining that to customers that came up and wanted me to do something about non compliance but it got really old quickly and I got to the point of just being like look I can't do anything sorry bye and that was while there was a full mandate for usage. I really feel for any employee that is being asked about it by customers right now. The fact is that when the state isn't enforcing or providing any real tools for private companies to enforce its probably just going to be let go.

Stoney here. I ended up going to BGW yesterday and feel very mixed. I’m fully vaccinated but I seriously doubt the 95 percent of maskless people were. I actually think the number might be closer to 98 percent of people wore no mask. I definitely still wore a mask out of principle, and I got a LOT of weird looks.

my biggest issue with going was, maybe it’s because I showed up at 4 and the park opened at 3 but people made NO effort to socially distance and were walking around with no purpose, like a group of 10 people would be walking very slowly in the middle of walkways then stop in place and force everyone to walk directly next to them. Also, maybe it’s because I haven’t been around many people in the last year, or maybe it’s because I’m not drunk at BGW anymore, but I got extreme anxiety over people acting belligerent, running around, screaming, being rude to employees, just acting very obnoxious. My main complaint was the people in lines for rides clearly not socially distancing, they had green markers in the queues to help out but people were right behind me, I had real anxiety being there. If I was anything like my old self I would have turned around, whipped a tape measure out of my pocket and extended it and told people to back up.

So yeah, I was blown away by how belligerent the people were behaving and how there was zero masks and no social distancing. If you’re fully vaccinated and don’t care I’m sure you won’t mind, but it was a huge shock to me going here!

Do to me not being vaccinated at the moment, i dont see myself going to the park too much throughout the next few weeks due to this situation, which is unfortunate.

There are social distancing markers around the Italy and Ireland tram stop it appears likely that the park is preparing to have people WALK from there when they get higher attendance.

For anyone who is curious, it's a busy day out here today. This Friday looks like the busiest of Saturdays of a month ago to me.

Thankfully, with operations actually truly scaling up now, the park seems to be managing the crowds well enough.

Any possibility that maybe F+WF was a mistake this year and they could have been better suited doing a different one off event?

The LPGA tournament is going on and W&M has graduations over the weekend I think it should have been expected to be busy.

Limited spectators for the Pure Silk Kingsmill Championship. Basically you have to be staying on property, live on property, pay $200, or be invited by a player. Luckily I fit into the last one so I'll be there Sunday :)

My $0.02 would have been a food truck festival. Let them pull in, commit to certain days, and basically outsource the food for this one off festival.

They used to set up with different food trucks in the employee lot for lunch during the week (pre-COVID), I doubt they still do. They'd already have a fair list of who to invite to participate.
