Yeah couldn’t imagine having to wear a mask on a water ride then have to walk around breathing through a wet sock

Well as far as I know Pompei is still closed but they did fill the pond a few weeks ago finally. I very rarely ride anything but the train anyhow we just do a couple laps for exercise.

Masks could be removed on water rides last year. That problem has already been solved.

This would be great if you were fully vaccinated.

So someone just asked me a question and I double checked by making a random park reservation to see what happened. The park reservations dont even habe bar codes on them anymore for them to scan? I mean I havent had a reservation the past few visits and I know they arent even asking for them half the time but even if you do have one now theres no way of them even scanning it? Is this a sign reservations will be gone soon?

Haven't noticed that, but just checked my reservation for today and it's true, the barcode is gone.

Could it be that they finally linked the reservation to the Membership so that they don't need to scan a separate code anymore?
Kings Dominion has the membership linked to the pass.

Possibly but they could also find it beneficial to continue them and use them to help project staffing needs.

They'll still keep the requirement to make a reservation, just now all you'll have to do ( at least I think ) is scan your membership / day ticket / fun card at the gate. Since reservations are linked up directly to the ticket it still is 1 ticket to 1 reservation just like before. Like WDWRLD speculated, this could be a sign they are getting rid of reservations as a whole soon but personally I think they are an excellent addition and should stay around. With that being said, there needs to be a way to limit the amount of unused reservations a person can make at a time.

To clarify. What do y'all think the relevance of the park's poor enforcement is?

I'm with you in that the very idea of cheating a system (honestly, any system) never enters my brain, so as a rule follower the whole situation doesn't really compute for me as a fully vaccinated person.

I think the relevance of poor enforcement in this case has to do with the risk assessments being done by those who have unvaccinated people in their party (particularly parents with kids) and who nonetheless are concerned about the virus. I realize that there's a Venn diagram of "unvaccinated and unconcerned" that is unbothered, but given how parks work to appeal to families they're really leaning into an existential crisis of knowing that risk to children is low but also realizing that we're likely about three months away from their kids being able to be vaccinated and adding even minor risk to their experience is no doubt weighing on them and their summer decision-making.

I am hopeful we will reach a point in the peak of summer where the vaccination levels will have risen and the initial anxiety over the mask mandate's removal might have proven unfounded, but I do think that parks choosing to distinguish between vaccinated and unvaccinated guests are doing so prematurely based on the social science of health communication, if not necessarily the science of the virus itself.

I just witnessed people being turned away for not having a resveration. The park is NOT anywhere near capacity so that is an interesting turn of events.

Maybe they are color blind…. Don’t be hating on color blind peeps…. 😂

Ironically, photo alt tags (where the mistake is located), are intended in large part for blindness accessibility. Maybe this is a blind leading the blind kinda situation? 😋

For anyone with kids that cares about covid:
It’s definitely not safe right now.

90% of the kids here do not wear masks and do not keep distance anymore.

I was ok last week with having my little one play with masked kids in the land of the dragons, but today it looks like covid never happened here.

I saw the same thing when I stuck my head into both FOF and LOD to see what was open.
