I haven't been since Christmas Celebration, but that's definitely a new announcement from what they were playing then. So glad they got a new announcer. The voiceover they'd been using from August to December was embarrassingly unprofessional.

I also like the change because, on paper, the "masks off only while seated" policy catches BGW up with Uni and Disney. Of course, that policy doesn't accomplish much if it's not being enforce.
I would say the prior voice was friendlier. This sounds more “official,” but less welcoming in my opinion. I will say, just due the number of times I heard the last recording, I was glad for a change.

BGW has a relatively light touch, when it comes to announcements, in my opinion. Caro has them on a constant loop, for example.

In the case of COVID, I personally, am happy to put up with as many official announcements as they want, if it will help ensure distancing and mask wearing.

Just curious, Horseboy. Since there was no F&W today other than the Festhaus was anyplace else open for food? I know last week Les Frites was open before F&W started. It would have to be a nightmare if the Festhaus is the only place open for food.

Fest House. Pretzel shop, New France funnel cakes, The pub, The snack stand in Ireland, Roman Freeze, and The drink stand that I was waiting at by Marco Polo. All had at least pretzels, and turkey legs.

They have closed off the crosswalk and Re forcing people to walk up the tramway from Germany

Maybe but I learned at like 5 to look both ways before crossing the street.

True, but how many folks out there have forgotten such lessons.

I remember hearing other parks (Universal I think?) that have hired crossing guards for busy times of the day to signal when it's ok to cross a road. This isn't because there's no other way, but because people have proven to ignore the automated light-up safety signage indicating when it's safe to cross.

The issue is more people can’t be bothered to look away from their phone for 5 seconds out of fear they miss out on a tik tok trend and become a loser.

Isn't the real issue just a corporate liability concern? I'm not sure why this is surprising? It seems reasonable for them to take precautions to me, especially with excited

On Friday, they had an employee there. Worked fine. (I mean, other than having a Platinum membership and having to park in Germany!) But, if they can make everyone walk farther to avoid paying another employee...

Went today and just don't understand the reasoning behind who is deciding how many are too many. Tags from all over again today. It was interesting while crawling towards the parking tollbooth to see 3 Suburbans (Not together) with what looked to be at least 8 or 9 people in each one. One vehicle, 8 people. I understand you can't turn them away but therein lies the rub. Today, for the first time since we started going back the line for purchasing tickets was as long as some of the ride lines! It was literally out of the ropes. So, I guess, my point is....What happened to advanced reservations?! These were clearly people buying tickets to use today. The France parking lot was full and when we left at 1:30 the Germany parking lot was well on it's way to filling up. I guess somebody can correct me but the last number I read for BGW was 5000 people. I can assure you there were more than that in the park today.

I won't go into the lack of infrastructure and employees. That has been discussed a lot. What I have a problem with is the dining plan that doesn't work. You end up waiting for them to call a manager and they try the barcode 5 times and eventually you get through. Of course for the time you wait your food gets cold. Some of the real scams are the drink refills where you fill the largest cup and it fills the refillable cup maybe 1/2 to 3/4 way. In just one day that adds up but the real kicker is the stein club refills. The stein holds 16oz. The plastic beer cups they give you now hole 12oz. If you have one of the premium steins that holds 20oz you are really getting screwed. I know. You can say I am nitpicking but put it this way. If I buy 3 beers I have I have lost almost a complete refill. Who profits from that? Hmm! It's not that I need another beer but it's how many more cups they get out of a keg.

I'll just say the crowds today were hit and miss. I'm attaching some pictures below this. The usual choke points were as usually bad. I still don't get why people think it is okay to stand in the middle of the walkway while they decide what they want to do. So here are the pictures. Masks seemed to be mostly worn although there were some chin straps. Social Distancing? Non-existent.

Both. This has been going on long enough that they have to know about it.

I forgot to include that if I was a paying customer I would be pissed. Take a family of 4 or even worse the Suburban's with 8 or 9 people. They are definitely not getting their monies worth. You have to figure these people are going to tell family & friends they got "ripped off" at BGW. If BGW starts to gain a reputation it is going to come back and bite them in the ass.

Is that a planning issue or a staffing issue.... Or both?
Both at best greed at worst. I can assure you that the park is well aware of the situation and what I find more concerning is that I see less and less senior leadership walking the park to the point that I haven't encountered any one that I recognize as high leadership walking around the public areas on my last two visits. That doesn't mean that they are not doing it but I have made a point to look for Kevin or other high level employees to politely make my opinion on the current situation know and have not spotted anyone.

Wish I had known you were there. It's always nice to put a face with a name.

I saw Kevin walking through Ireland at just about 11 o'clock. I didn't speak to him. he was with somebody else I didn't recognize. I checked the picture I posted of Ireland because it was about the same time.

Busch Gardens Insiders on FB is actually directing complaints to specific post setup for complaints and venting on certain subjects cause they are seeing so many. For those not familiar with the group the park has loved them because they usually have a positive and up beat aditude toward the park no matter what is going on. For there to be that level of negative feelings in that group toward the park it's a VERY VERY bad sign of the state of things right now.

On another front the park litterly has Now hiring banners infront of the employee entrance.

No need to check I didn't really think that he had completely stopped walking the park but it's noticeable reduced from even a week ago when I could usually spot him or other recognizable senior leaders multiple times in even a short visit. I wasn't there till the afternoon and will be there most afternoons this week if you are going back feel free to send me a PM if you want to say high.
