I’ve met some of the kindest people who work at Busch Gardens. Many know & recognize me & my family. On this forum, we see the crazy kinds of people they have to put up with! ?

“Unsubstantiated claims” = information we dislike.

And it’s interesting — when you start talking about the vast, vast majority SURVIVING the disease, the response is “what about the ONE life we could save?” (Which, saving lives is not what precautions are doing. They may “slow” spread, but they don’t stop it). But when you say “‘My life is impacted” it’s “you have to think about the LARGER COMMUNITY!” ?

Not only are you once again rudely and sarcastically claiming to know what other people think, but now you are also claiming people said things they never did.

And the fact that admit to valuing your own convenience over the good of the community says a lot about your character.

To be fair, the same employee had just been VERY deligent about guests wearing their masks properly. I have to commend him for doing the right thing in that regard.

Regardless, being forced to squeeze up next to other guests in this time isn’t something I’m willing to concede to. I’ve only ever made visits to guest services to commend employees in the past, but today should’ve been an exception.

If you're still at the park, I think you should definitely tell them both things. Compliment the employee for their handling of mask enforcement and but say you didn't like what they said to you about physical distancing. Visiting guest services about an employee doesn't have to mean you're out for blood- just that you want to make a suggestion that could have a real impact on the park experience (and safety) for others.

Edit: Just read that you already left, but definitely email them!

This has been such a sad, mostly American, development of "freedom" meaning "convenient". Anyways not the spot for it.

As for @Murphy 's experience it's why I haven't been to the park and likely won't until we see a high enough vaccination rate that we can be mostly be mask Bree. I hope that things like distancing would have become more common place, but it seems as though most are seeing it as an either/or rather than both.

Agreed. I think this person was trying to do their best. Just because I’m upset about the outcome with my personal experience doesn’t mean they can’t be both right and wrong depending on the circumstance.

You’re wrong. The comments regarding theme park workers on a theme park forum are not only rude, but fucking disrespectful to people like me. The vast majority on this forum likely don’t appreciate what you said. I’m honestly in shock.

What a slap in the face to hardworking entertainment workers.
Saying that you can make minimum wage doing something other than working at a theme park isn’t disrespectful. It’s the truth.

just because it hurts your feelings doesn’t mean it’s not correct.

Yea, and I imagine it's hard. But to me I don't see how you can only be concerned about one; and not making sure distancing is still happening. But I will add that I've seen it become so lax EVERYWHERE. I think the fatigue has really set in hard especially as the vaccine is coming out and people see us as through the issues.

I think it would be simpler for you to go read the pages and pages I’ve already written in response to others on this topic. I’m frankly sick of repeating myself.

I‘m not the least bit upset with anything other than having my time wasted by people continually making assertions without data to back them up. I don’t care what you think or if you disagree with me.

Until you provide credible sources for your claims, they are unsubstantiated.

point to what I’ve said this is unsubstantiated.

I dare you to say that you think sanitizing a seat on a roller coaster once an hour helps. Please say that.

It certainly doesn't hurt. With people screaming, potentially coughing, sneezing, having saliva come out in other ways it's only smart to keep cleaning them just in case.

For sure. I know people that have been so very diligent this whole time, who are suddenly easing up on their practices because they feel the end is in sight.

I’ve had so many injuries/broken bones/surgeries in my life that I learned with a few missteps that if you try to jump the gun you’ll end up worse off than where you started.

What is the purpose in saying aggressive, hurtful things?

Why would I argue in favor of the COVID safety theater like temperature checks and spraying down the rides? I keep advocating following CDC guidance, meaning social distancing and mask wearing.

You have failed to provide data to support these statements:

“We know enough about it to NOT have to shut everything down. Everything should be open.”

“I think stadiums should have the ability to be full right now.”

I liked this thread better when it was just Nick misrepresenting sources and presenting information without explaining where it’s from instead of Beachokie being beligerent and just digging deeper when people point out how disrespectful they’re being to workers.

To both of you: you have a right to your opinion, but you’re both doing a terrible job of making that opinion seem rational, and in line with community values (which are already ABSURDLY in your favor given they haven’t chosen to ban you already, IMO). The claim that Nicole is simply angry because she disagrees is an absolutely wild attempt to divorce what you’re saying from your methods of saying it, and the latter problem is entirely of your own making.

It is well within the rights of the administrators of a forum community to act in the best interest of that larger group in situations where one’s behavior is purposefully disruptive. And if you can seriously be reading this thread, which has gone on for this long, and which contains many discussions like this one, and believe that the issue here is simply your “facts” and not the choices of tone and language you’re engaging in, then your inability to properly interpret data and sources is far from your only failing.

(Nick, honestly, don’t let this person pull you deeper down into this, you were on a better path without them.)

Me: When you say “‘My life is impacted” it’s “you have to think about the LARGER COMMUNITY!”
Nicole:

Like I said.

I must be completely misunderstanding your point, because you appear to agreeing with me that you value yourself over the community?
