It depends. The comment I was making that basis off was why couldn't they open in Phase 2 with just shops. The loss would be all the usual expenses of being closed, plus staffing, food, merchandise. If it's not moving enough and they are ordering and staffing like that then the losses could be greater. It was close to a no that they would operate in phase two with just stores and food with a 250 person cap (or was it 50 person), where the most likely people coming in would be local pass holders to use their discounts and meal plans.

I agree with you. In that scenario they would have incurred greater losses than if they had started closed.

My point was more that's what they are trying to do. They want to get to a point where even if they are losing money they aren't losing as much. It's likely even at 5000 they would still operate at a net loss on some to most days but they would likely be smaller than it would be if the issue hadn't opened at all.

Now for the most important question.... Can Premier and Platinum members still use the employee entrance??? I despise the main entrance!!!
The most important question is if they actually consider this partial re-opening to count toward membership time if you don't come to the park. Having a small portion of the park open may be ok for locals, but expecting anyone to drive any distance for that experience which they paid full price for is absurd.

Step right up, step right up and don't be shy. to place you bet (or best guess post) on when the official opening date will be now that we know they will be opening and what countries in the park will be open. Additional bet for what coasters and flats will be open. Step right up!

My guess would be next Thursday, August 6th. I think you can expect to see Squire's and O'Taters open. With the various smaller stands in those countries also opening with the exception that there will probably only be one funnel cake shop open.

As for rides I would expect all the flat rides in Scotland and France/New France to open. And for Loch Ness, Finnegan's, Invadr and Griffon to be open. But I am less optimistic and sure about those as I am about the restaurants that are opening. There's a chance that they only open 1 or 2 of the big rides right now

Ok....I’ll play....Opening July 29th

The only Country they will open is Germany, only Coaster is Tempesto and only flat is Oscar’s Whirly Worm.

And then there's 2020 2 park fun cards. How are they going to deal with these?

It's a similar question for 2 park memberships. Do we get a comp for WCUSA not being open if we use the memberships at BGW during this time.

These are the questions and more I'm interested in.

Yeah, it's been clear from following the Facebook Discourse today that a phased/partial opening is going to create a whole new kind of chaos: there were already people who would have been resistant to their membership time counting toward a full opening with restrictions (masks, distancing, etc.) so there's definitely going to be a lot of frustration if they're only going to be giving folks 5-ish months of additional time based on opening what will probably amount to 40% of the park, with limited staff, and with the vast majority of kids rides closed.

But again, SeaWorld's biggest problem during this decision has been their communication with their members, so this isn't a new problem as it were.

This is a good question. I have a 2 park pass, and even if bgw does open fully (eventually) wcusa never opened, what's gonna happen? Are they gonna refund me the extra money for wcusa, or am I just gonna eat the cost, and have my 2 park pass be a 1 park pass.

I just want clarity for passes in general, I'm already uncomfortable with the idea of the park only partially opening, having a 2nd park on your pass that won't be able to open certainly doesn't help.

Not much for kids. That's surprising.

The suggested openings from 5-9 definitely suggest they're imagining it as a sort of "date night" option, versus a full-day experience. This would avoid shift changes/turnover, among other benefits, but it also creates a serious tunnel traffic issue getting to the Peninsula.

With the reduced capacity and limited ride offering, I can’t imagine this will greatly affect Peninsula traffic. It’ll be essentially the same as the rush of cars coming to HOS in the afternoon, but in a much smaller, more condensed wave.

I am specifically referring to it being annoying to get to the park for a 5pm opening sitting in tunnel traffic trying to get there from Norfolk.

So, less "creates more traffic" and more "forces you to sit in rush hour traffic to get to the park on a weekday," which could keep people from making the trek.

I say England, Scotland, Ireland, and maybe France or Italy one of the two with lochness and finnegans open and other rides in those areas with the possibility of griffin
