Funny thing was when I went back the next day to return the core charge the same lady had the mask under her chin.
What does this have to do with my post? It doesn't make the scenario any less manipulative.

Two wrongs don't make a right. That's a basic concept that 5 year olds grapple with, not full grown adults. Don't quote me for unrelated posts.

@WDWRLD I get that it may be relevant that she was disregarding the rules the next day; however, that doesn't change the fact you manipulated her into breaking that rule the day before. If anything, your manipulation may have caused her to become more defiant of the rule going forward. Therefore, you caused her to break the rule the first day and the second day.

So your saying if I go in and ask for a employee discount and she dosent give it to me I should tell her im going to advance. Then when I come back tomorrow I will have used mind tactics to manupliate her into giving me the discount?

I could see your logic if they worked off comission or it was a mom and pop store but its a chain and most employees could care less if I bought my part from them.

Only because I am daring and think that I might be able to follow your logic, I will attempt a decent response.

If you were to ask for an employee discount, then she refused, and you said you will be going to another competitor. If she caved, and gave you the discount, then yes. You manipulated her into giving you a discount. Once she does it, she may become more likely to continue doing it and you would have caused her to break the rules.

I get that it seems like front line staff typically do not care if you shop at their location or not; however, you yourself said that she broke the rules so that you wouldn't run off to another competitor. If they do not care about taking your money, then they may not care about the rules. Your mentioning another competitor pushed them over the edge and gave them the excuse they may have needed to break the rules.

It is especially important to note that wearing masks in public is a very new thing in our country. When a new policy gets implemented, it can be very easy to break it and continue like you used to. That is why strict enforcement is necessary. To get people to start this new habit of wearing a mask in public. Because this is a relatively new policy for this store, she may have thought nothing of it to simply break the rule.

Heres the thing, if I thought this mask stuff was only temporary or if there was a timeline for their end and laws about wearing masks were put back in place then I would probably be more inclined to follow. However im seeing a trend in some of the youtubers that they feel like when they see anyone without a mask on its the worst thing in the world. When I see a person alone in a car with a mask on and windows rolled up or someone out alone on a morning walk wearing a mask it makes me think that these people have no understanding of what the mask is for or does and this will cause it to become the new normal. People are making masks a fashion statement, making masks more and more elaborate. I watched a video yesterday where the girl was talking about her "Vera Bradley" mask. The people in Asia wear masks for a reason and its the pollution, so even when you are alone in your yard its normal for it to be worn.....thats not normal here in the US and im worried thats the path we are following where you will be judged for being in your own yard or car for not wearing a mask.

I can't say the Universal action is surprising. The need to balance social distancing with the need to get people in the park and actually make money were always going to be at a heads with each other.

The parks just aren't that well designed to operate in a COVID-19 world and would probably need to spend millions or tens of millions completely redesigning queues and walkways to really accommodate virtual queueing and spreading people out. That investment only makes sense if the park believes their won't be a vaccine or anti-virus regime anytime in the near future.

For now, it looks like the parks are going to make due as best they can in the interim, but anyone thinking of visiting needs to be aware of the risks they are going into.

@WDWRLD So now my question to you is why are masks a bad thing to popularize? If people enjoy accessorizing their mask, is that not a good thing? Like wearing a bracelet or hat, it is a form of individualism and expression. That seems like a really good thing in my opinion.

I can see where there may be a negative stigma for not wearing a mask; similar to how people may give dirty looks if you cough or sneeze in public. However, if people don't treat the mask seriously, like you proclaim, then you should not worry about that. People won't see you without wearing a mask as a bad thing. They will likely think that you may not feel the need to accessorize.

With all that said, the mask does have a practical use. If you choose not to wear one in public when they are required or heavily suggested, then that is your own fault for getting those dirty looks.

From my own observations, people generally do not care about masks. You can tell hem to wear them or not, most people don't seem to care to fight over masks. If they are told to wear them, most do. If they aren't told, they may still wear one or not. So there is no need to worry about any negative stigma about wearing or not wearing a mask. People simply don't have a strong opinion on them as a whole.

Facial recognition is not the police's 'go-to' method for identifying criminals. It was only recently debated, but nothing has fully been implemented. In fact, as a follower of some police organizations on Facebook, their go-to method tends to be use whatever picture they can obtain and publicize it and get the public to help identify the person. This is the 'Be On the Look Out' (BOLO) method. It has proven to be fairly helpful.

Also, just because you have a law making it illegal to wear a mask, does not mean criminals will obey that law. Just sayin, if I was a criminal I'm not going to pick and chose what laws I do and do not abide by.

I will be very blunt here, it seems that you are anti-mask. Every time I come up with reasonable explanations and solutions you disregard me and jump to a new problem. It is okay to say you hate masks. You can most definitely hate them. I know personally, I don't like them either. But I can tolerate the few cases in which I am required to wear a mask. In fact, recently, my place of employment issued further guidance on wearing masks. They previously required to have masks worn 100% of the time. Now, they have issued guidelines explain that if you are able to maintain a physical distance of 6 feet or more, you are able to take the mask off. They also said that those working predominately alone would typically not be required to wear a mask unless around others within a 6 feet distance. Within 3 feet we will be required to wear a face shield, but that would be for prolonged interactions that can not avoid physical distancing.

So masks shouldn’t be allowed because it hinders government surveillance?

So the reasons you have given against masks are-

“My freedom *eagle screech sound here*”
“Government can’t watch people.”
“It’s uncomfortable.”
“I think the other kids on the playground are breaking the rules so I can to.”

I’m honestly impressed by how far you’re willing to go to fight back against the menace that is slowing down the spread of a deadly virus. (Which is a conspiracy)

I see it more as a “my freedoms are being infringed but it’s important to make sure the government can watch everyone”, which seems like a take that will give you a headache if you think about it too much.

Hershey sent out an email that they will start collecting payments between June 19th and July 2, with auto withdrawals every 14 days until it’s paid in full.

I think BG and KD will have signs stating masks are required, just like most of the stores and restaurants. Enforcement will be voluntary by the patron. I've been in multiple stores over the past week and mask use has been intermittent. In no case did I ever see any person being told they had to have a mask. I don't really expect any of the employees at BG to enforce the mask policy with the exception of security. BG doesn't really enforce their smoking policy. Does anyone really expect high school/college kids to get confrontational?

I think most people are past the whole virus/mask thing. Backyard parties are occurring all around, with most being graduation parties. I see people out all the time without masks. I think the protests just added to it all and people have just decided to move on.

That photo is from the other day—Uni claims to have addressed it since. Apparently Universal also re-implemented social distancing at the end of the Hagrid queue today following the backlash yesterday.
