The guests are there to enjoy themselves and have fun. It’s the park that sets the tone on how they behave and act.So, as I understand the argument, a park shouldn’t bother even trying to put good safety policies in place, if they believe their guests are selfish and irresponsible? That kind of thinking is wildly unethical.
So basically, you manipulated her into letting you stay? Seems pretty wrong.
The sign I’m seeing in a number of places is to the effect of “masks are mandatory, but if you don’t have one on we assume it’s due to a medical condition and will respect your privacy”. Mask wearing in those businesses I’ve seen is pretty low.
Yes those are at many resturaunts in SE Virginia.
I would be interested in hearing that too.....I'd be interested in hearing how you should eat without a mask.
Took a page from your book.Cool cherry picking of my entire post to avoid defending your off base point.
Took a page from your book.
Good, because I dont understand what you were saying anyhow. How should you "eat without a mask"?The two haves of your post were responding to different posts. You purposely cut out part of my post where I questioned howelse you were supposed to eat and that there’s part of the EO that accounts for removal of the mask to eat.
This is basically why I’ve stepped out of the conversation. Everything has an excuse, or a counter, or “well I saw x within y miles of my house so that’s the way it is everywhere”. The reasoning has become beyond dumb, and frankly has started to look childish to me. So with that I’ll be back to being out of this conversation and liking posts that are very reasonable in their assessment of what’s going on.
but maybe you don’t have real counter arguments.
Its the same as many of the stores I see, signs on the door saying masks are mandatory but inside guests and someplaces employees not wearing masks. I walked into a chain autoparts store the first day or so of the mandate we will call "O". Lady said "do you have a mask" to which I replied "no". She says "you have to have a mask in here" so I said "ok I will go over to Advance" and turned toward the door, her reply.....what do you need? I got all the parts I needed with no mask. That shows that when it comes to losing sales masks dont matter to some businesses. I wasnt mad at heror the store...its the states rules and they are welcome to follow them but customers have choices.
No I didny say "if you dont let me in I will go to Advance" I was just leaving. If she had of not said anything else to me their rules would have been honered and I would have not been served there. I wouldnt have argued that one bit.
I can't like this post enough.Just by mentioning going to a competitor, you used their fear of loosing money to a competitor as a tactic to manipulate her in to bending the rules so that they can get your dollars. It may sound and seem innocent on the surface, but when you dig into it, that is just dirty play.
Had you just said, "Okay" and walked out the door, there would be no problem. The problem is the second you said you would go to Advanced instead.
Goddamn man. It seems like we align on a lot of issues politically, but your opposition to masks sucks. It’s literally just a little bit of fabric strung across your face - it’s not that bad at ALL. Sure, I’d rather not wear one if I didn’t have to, but the evidence out there overwhelmingly shows they seriously limit the spread of the virus. We’ll only be able to enjoy the parks if people wear them and if people like you shape up and step in line. As a conservative like yourself, when I think of “snowflakes”, throwing a tantrum over a piece of fabric is the most “snowflake” thing I can think of.
Funny thing was when I went back the next day to return the core charge the same lady had the mask under her chin.I can't like this post enough.
This is such a common customer tactic. I fucking hated it when I was in retail. It's such a whiney baby, I can't get my way, thing to do to try and manipulate workers into giving in. As bad as "well the last time I was here I was allowed."/"well they did it at the other store"
