Usually these types of contracts have deposits and progress payments to balance responsibility between parties. Given SEAS already weak cash position, I wouldn’t be surprised to see many of them cut. The BGW 2021 project hasn’t even broke ground, and is unclear how much manufacturing has even occurred, so it would likely be one of the first to go.
I can promise you that there's been considerable payments already. I'm not saying that it is impossible to cancel it just that it would seem unlikely given the amount that has been paid already.
Let's also not forget that Pantheon and 2021 are supposed to be a package deal from Intamin. According to Kevin last summer any delay in the waiver being delayed will have substantial effects on the park and other projects

Payments made already are sunk costs and won't be that relevant if SEAS has to get their books in line. Even if they've paid $10m on a $20M project (numbers fictional), cancelling the project and salvaging some of the funds spent may still be the better option. SEAS is poorly situated for a zero revenue period with limited cash on hand and a lot of operating costs they can't stop paying through a shutdown (e.g. animal care). Coming into a financial crisis, puts every cost cutting option on the table, as keeping the parks open is priority one.

Disney just suspended the DCP! That’s like half their workforce! ?
Yeah this to me sounds like they won’t be reopening in two weeks and if they do they’re not expecting the normal crowd traffic they usually get so these students won’t be needed right away.
From twitter I have been hearing that dozens of College Program kids are walking off the job mid shift at EPCOT right now.
Not that this place was a big worry as they’re lucky to get maybe 2-3 visitors each week but ?...

And why not? They already have an email guaranteeing them successful completion credit.
Colleges can revoke that if they wanted. I had an internship where the program ended early, and because I didn't do enough hours, my credits were revoked despite completing everything else for the internship.
DCP isn't like half their workforce. It's estimated to be about 12,000 people annually working approximately 6 month contracts. So that's about 6000 for spring and 6000 for winter. According to Disney they have over 77,000 cast members working at Disney World. So we aren't even talking about 10% of the workforce. It's likely this is more to prevent COVID-19 from spreading throughout the dorms where the DCP participants live.
See above but while a small but still significant portion of their staff to me it seems like it would be safer to send them home than to keep them stuck in the dorms they currently live in at DCP housing.
Disney could say revoke it now since they are voluntarily leaving. Also probably goes from a positive review to a negative review and potentially tons future chances to work at Disney.

But it’s the CPs, Culinary programs, cultural exchange, and international ambassadors in guest relations. I saw mention that this is basically all the world showcase cast that you see.I talked about it in another thread that I'll post a link to below but these programs account for less than the 10% of the staff at Disney World. I'm sure it had more to do with the fact that they don't want the groups in the dorms during the closure because if it gets in the dorms then everyone is going to get it. Colleges are all doing the same thing as well. They are kicking everyone out of the dorms and sending them home.
