So, we were thinking about Killarney and Festa during HOS and I came up a new idea for each. I don't expect them to be very popular, especially since I have no interest in clowns, but I thought I'd share anyway.
Killarney
It occurred to me that while the EITA building is totally unsuited to a haunted maze, I think it would make a fantastic fun house, maybe a 3D fun house. The screens and long hallways could be used very effectively. The fear of heights illusion would fit well. Unfortunately, the balloons probably would, as well. I think the house could include tilted floors (crooked house), a spinning tunnel, a sophistical mirror maze, black lights and strobes, etc.
I would like to see Killarney and the Wild Reserve jointly themed to traditional British/Celtic "monsters," or perhaps European mythological creatures. I noticed this year that there are no scare zones dedicated to traditional European monsters. The Wild Reserve could be turned into a dark forest, full of supernatural creatures. Killarney could be the home to witches and other frightening inhabitants of rural towns.
Festa
I think it could be cool to build a traditional labyrinth themed to Greek mythology. Specifically, I would like to see the Minotaur's Maze in Festa. It would not be a traditional haunted maze. Rather than sending a line of people through a defined path, the park would create a real labyrinth and send people in from a variety of locations with goals of escaping the Minotaur and other Greek monsters, and finding the center of the maze. It would probably need to be an up-charge and/or handled with reservations. I think it would be cool to have a real maze, as opposed to a single path through a house. Trying to find your way out, while dodging monsters could be fairly scary.
