I went to CT the day after Christmas once, and it was a nightmare. But the rain could certainly keep a huge chunk of those crowds away. If tomorrow definitely looks like the better weather day, I'd go today if I were you. Especially with the warm weather, rain doesn't really affect the experience to much- the crowds are low, and personally, I just love seeing the park in the rain.

The only drawback with the rains, especially the amounts we've been getting is it affects the lights. I've been on days with rain, it creeps into the circuits and tends to short-out lights. The BG Facebook page has a long rant from a guest with lots of pictures of lights out from Christmas Eve.

Yesterday was great. Crowded, of course, but nowhere near capacity. It was totally manageable. Thanks for the tip!!

Question for everyone: In your experience, around what time do they stop charging for parking? I remember coming to the park late and not being charged, but it was a very long time ago.

I usually love Christmas Town, but I had a rather disappointing experience yesterday. I'd go so far as to call it one of the worst days I've had at BGW.

It wasn't so much that the event was problematic- it was the crowd control and the customer service. It was downright lousy yesterday. I really felt crummy being there, like the park just didn't give a crap about my patronage.

I'll start with Verbolten. It was running only one side of its dual station and only three trains were running. An operator told me they only run one side on lightly-attended days... but folks, this was not a lightly attended day. It was far more crowded than both Saturdays that I attended this year. Suffice to say, the line moved at a snail's pace. It reached through the entire tourist center and nearly all of the switchbacks, and an exiting guest said he waited about an hour. Running only one side of a two-station coaster, when it is the park's only operating coaster, on a crowded day, seems like a big middle finger to guests.

I don't buy the excuse that there wasn't enough staff. There were two park employees stationed at the entrance to the queue as greeters. Why not use at least ONE them as an operator instead, and open up the second station? This issue seriously needs to be addressed.

Then we go over to Pretzel World and order some peppermint coco, because I loves me some Christmas Town peppermint coco. Annnddd, they're out of peppermint. At like 4 o'clock. So we go over to Marketplatz. Apparently they were also out of peppermint coco. Is there some sort of peppermint crisis going on that I'm not aware of? Surely the park should be better prepared.

And lights were out everywhere, which was perhaps the most disappointing thing. I know, I know... rain messes with the lights. But it hadn't rained since before noon, and at 8 o'clock half the lights in some areas were still out. I think the park needs to look into how they weatherproof their lights. I noticed that the connections between most of the cords are left exposed, allowing water to works its way into the outlets and mess with the electricity. I always wrap every single cord connection in electrical tape, and it protects the lights from rain. I do not understand why the park does not do this... probably the oldest trick in the book.

And then there are things I just can't put my finger on. The park just felt hollow last night (which is an ironic metaphor, since the pathways were anything but "hollow"). For some reason, I almost got the feeling that after Christmas day, the park doesn't really care as much about the quality of Chrismas Town.

The park wasn't all bad, though. Scrooge No More was performing on top of its game yesterday. They had a swing performer playing Fezziwig, and I actually liked him better than the normal Fezziwig. He had a ton of energy and gave off a believably jolly vibe, fitting his character perfectly and really enhancing his scene.

PLEASE don't take this mini-review as some hateful spitballing. Like I said, I usually love Christmas Town. I really do. But yesterday was disappointing, since the issues above tainted what is usually a fantastic event. I really hope the park looks into addressing these issues in the future.

We went Thursday and had a lot of fun. The crowds were manageable except for bolt busting out of its queue running one station. You'd think after the wait got up to an hour that they would open the second station, but we just skipped it. It was our final trip for 2015 and my BGW count for the year ended up 12RS, 3HOS, 4CT. Looking forward to 2016!

Longtime lurker, first-time poster. We had various waves of family in town and took them to two Twinkle Ticket days, the Sunday after Thanksgiving (crowded but somewhat manageable) and the infamous Dec. 21 (awful, awful experience). We were thinking of going one more time tomorrow, but that's also a Twinkle Ticket day. Did anyone go yesterday (1.1), which was the next-to-last discount day? Like others on this board, I thought people may have already used their Twinkle Tickets up, but people have been thinking that for weeks.

First off, welcome to the forums IheartGrover! I went to the park on December 21 with my friend, and I told her that the park closed at around 3:00. Obviously, that didn't seem to be a good sign.

Somehow, however we were able to circumnavigate the crowds. It was almost like a miracle considering all of the crowd issues. At the end of the night, we saw Gloria, and the Abbeystone Theatre was the emptiest that I've ever seen it during Christmas Town. I wondered if everyone got mad and left the park early.

Later, I went with some other friends on December 27 and I did not have the same luck. It was four of us, and therefore harder to plow through empty spots in the crowds. We also made the mistake of not following an itinerary that experienced park-goers typically do. We left at around 7:30.

I hope that tomorrow will be less crowd due to people not knowing about it being open. Also, kids are going back to school the next morning. It's a gamble, but I still want to see the park one last time before the off season. Hopefully they will make an exception to the "no recordings of any sort" rule for the last day. Sometimes they do that for final performances.

From some friends who visited the park, they all said the 1st was pretty busywith the weather being terrible the past two days and it being a holiday. Park is expecting some sizeable crowds for tomorrow.

Weather is supposed to get below freezing tomorrow night plus its a school night so despite it being a discount day, crowds may opt to skip out. It probably won't be as bad as some peak nights the past few weeks but I'd expect some crowds around.

I did post some advice here about managing crowds. Hope it helps somewhat. /shameless plug

Christmas may have started out as being about Christ and religion but now its more about family, how to live your life with good will and for peace towards all.
