The train has always been and will probably always be a transport ride for Christmas Town. BGW already has more lights than Disney.

Where did you see this?

Edit: Just did some research, and found that Disney world uses 8 million lights. That was from 2009 so it may be more now. But couldnt find how many were at bg, anyone know?

I've never actually been during Christmas, but from pics and videos I've seen, they seem to do that very well. But back to CT

BG definitely looks and feels like Christmas. I don't really care who has the most lights or that BG has X # millions of lights. Every year I have been my daughter and I are amazed by it.

Last year with Polar Pathways, I swear I could just sit down there on one of the benches and just zone out to the lights and tranquil music that was playing. It was how I imagine watching the northern lights would be if it had a soundtrack. Some hot chocolate and doughnut holes go nice with this.

The trains were all lit up with Christmas lights, and I seem to recall that all three of them were running. Doesn't the green train have a caboose?

Also, I cannot wait for that yummy sandwich they serve at Grogan's Grill: Turkey, cranberry sauce, melted cheese on toasted bread. Best sandwich ever!!!

Why yes it does, in fact here is a really great article about the Busch Gardens Railway: http://wiki.parkfans.net/index.php/The_Busch_Gardens_Railway#.2317_Alpen_Express It is totally worth a read! :)

Does the train have lights along the path? I have never ridden it but I would like to this year.

The train has lights on it, as well as christmas trees lit up along the railway.

Scott said that BGW has more Christmas lights than Disney. Even though BGW claims to have 6 million this year, I am positive there are much more than that.

He said that Disney has 8 million lights and that they have 6 million and that they are surrpassed only by them. He never said that BG has more lights.

Hoopla, apparently you don't understand my post. Scott did say Busch Gardens Williamsburg has more lights than Disney. I remember exactly every word that he spoke at that time because I was so excited that day. I was really hype for HOS and CT this year. By the way, we might be seeing a repeat of Howl-o-Scream with Christmas Town this year ;)

I'm 99% sure that he said BGW was second only to Disney World.

What? I'm terribly confused.

He means that the park may act the same way they did with Howl O scream again, Cut corners until they get customers upset, then they'll change. I doubt it, the park has learned their lesson with that technique.

I don't think they'll be able to skate by with that kind of shenanigan again any time soon. In my honest opinion, I actually think Carl Lum was just as much at fault for that as Scott, and anyone else involved. He was previously the head accountant for Tampa, so he knows very well how to save money. I just think he needs to know what he's doing when it comes to running the park. The way it's going now, Tampa is getting better than ever, but we're falling behind. I have nothing personal against any of them, but I just think some of them have the wrong jobs. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it. All we can do is hope they'll learn soon.

The timeframe to get CT ready this year is no different than any past year. I can tell you from personal experience the transformation is an incredible thing to witness. By this point, most of the lights are on buildings, most of HOS is in boxes and trailers, lights around the park are changed, and trees are being set up.

As weird as this is to hear, the park has more time to set up CT than they do for HOS. Everything should be up and ready come the 23rd.

From what I've heard, they will be still be setting up for Christmas Town minutes before they open the gates, most major things will be taken care of but a few of the smaller things will need some more work. For all the work that has to be done plus the addition of Holiday Hills, it seems like they constantly push themselves. They have a tighter and tighter schedule each year because of constant expansion, not necessarily because of time. The transformation itself look amazing, and odd to see HOS and CT stuff up at the same time, while everyday HOS disappears a little bit and CT takes over. But from rumors they are cutting it close this year with the Holiday Hills addition and all the meticulous work that has to be done.

Christmastown is behind in decorating and will be working non-stop to be ready for opening night. I'm not sure what this means or why. I imagine hurricane sandy threw everybody off a few days which affected the 1st week after HOS.
