The Highland Stables still have all of their normal animals (sheep, horses, an owl, etc.) and the Polar Pathway has some penguins as well as a few other animals.

No reindeer. Sorry.

Santa's workshop, unless I'm missing something, is just a place to have your picture taken with Santa.

Yes, you can get a refillable hot chocolate mug (not sure of the initial cost) and refill it for 99 cents.

Hope you have a good time!

Thanks. I was hoping Santa's Workshop was something festive to see, like an elaborate old fashioned display at a department store with animated figures and such. The official description is somewhat vague, and it alludes to there being reindeer, but I wasn't sure.

Here's what the official website says:
Create memories that will last a lifetime at Christmas Town. Catch a sneak peek of Santa and Mrs. Claus through the snow covered windows of his North Pole workshop. Excitement builds as families peer through a paned window into Santa’s study nestled between two reindeer stables. Children are greeted by elf attendants who guide them inside as they eagerly await a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. Children are invited to sit on Santa’s lap and pose for a photo that will forever capture the memory of this experience.

They announced today on Facebook that Griffon will not be reopened during the remaining days of CTown.

I'm sure that was well received.

It's a war zone. I would say about 50-50, some taking it in stride and some saying they will never return....

The GP is just ridiculous. People were on there saying they were going to CT just to ride Griffon......:dodgy:

I will be going for the first time tomorrow! The whole family finally agreed on a day.

Swift, will the quoted area depress me?

I went at the end of the day last Saturday and we walked right in, no wait at all

I completely agree with Shafor. Last year it was easily the worst part of Christmas Town; however, this year, they must of heard our pleas because it's much, much better. As the two people above me said, wait till near the end of the day to see it. There normally isn't a line and you can take your time watching them.

My plans to travel from New England to Busch Gardens on Sunday are up in the air because of the impending storm. If it works out that we can travel south, it has me wondering about the impact of a snowstorm on Busch Gardens' operations. Hypothetically speaking, if BGW received snow, does anyone know how they handle it? Does a little snow interupt the park, or does it open no matter what? Does that area ever get significant snow?

I'm not sure. Best bet would be to call them. However around here, if it starts snowing everything shuts down.

Thanks guys, but that's what I was afraid of. I've heard rumors that that part of the country "shuts down" when snow arrives. We're watching the storm closely, and looking at the option of traveling a couple of days later.

Ironically, I visited Santa's Village in New Hampshire last week where workers were shoveling snow off the roller coaster and other rides and pulling snow off rooftops and had everything open, including the coaster.

I was there last year and it snowed really heavy so they shut the park down early but i wouldnt worry about the snow that much.

After speaking with a former manager last night, she said that they haven't been forced to close this year for snow YET but it if it bad then plan on it. They walkways they have with the slick pebbles is a massive liability on their part when it gets cold, heck or even wet for that matter. The steep hills do nothing to help that. I would imagine if they stayed open in a pretty thick fall then the street carolers among the other outdoor attraction would be brought to a halt.

On a slightly different note. I attended Xtown last night and several people were having a negative time with the sky ride. Apparently from what I heard from different people a call said the wind was at too great a velocity to operate. Instead of telling a 60+ minute line that, they ran them the first leg and found out there. If it was too high then why were they even running one segment of it at all?

That is strange but they probably did it so there wouldnt be a bunch of bad complaints.

We had to stay home through the storm here in the New England so there won't be any trip to Christmas Town for us this year. There just isn't enough time left in the week for us to do the trip we had hoped and make it worth the 700+ mile drive. Instead we're traveling to Hershey, PA which we can do in the few days we have. Thanks everyone for the information. After many visits to BG in the summer, I wish we could have made it to Christmas Town. I hope we can do it for another Christmastime in the future.

How to get everything done in one night:

-Get there at 2:15, park and get tickets.
-Turnstiles open at 2:30. Enjoy England, shops, hot cocoa, etc.
-Scotland opens @ 3:00 Enjoy the stables
-Ireland and France stagger their openings over next 30 mins. Enjoy shops in Ireland, Grogan's Pub
-Once France opens, enjoy Polar Pathway, no line.
-Head to North Pole for Santa, again no line.
-Head to Festhaus for Deck the Halls at 4:30, not crowded (good time to eat if you want to eat early)
-Head to Italy for Miracles at 5:20
-Head back to Ocktoberfest, enjoy Mistletoe Marketplace, rides, Darkastle, Cuckoo shop, etc.
-Head to New France, enjoy shop (Trapper's should not be crowded if you want to eat late)
-Take the train, circle the whole park, back to New France, stay on and get off in Scotland on the second time through
-Head to Ireland for Rejoice at 8:30, get there 10 mins early, should be plenty of seating, (head to Flight of Lights, then back for the 9:30 Rejoice).
-Head to Italy, enjoy the rides in San Marco.
-Head to Flight of Lights (if you're in line before 10, you can still ride.)

Head home, thank me later...:D

To be safe there is a wind restriction on the skyride; do not quote me - but 20-25mph sounds about right. Personally, I love horizontal G-Forces.. (BBW and Alpengeist being my fave coasters and all) but on the Skyride?? I think not. I am glad the park has high safety standards for one.

The park sadly will not be opened on extra days to make up for snow due to contract obligations. Bummers. That is why we all need to pull our efforts to get everyone we can to come visit the park on the days remaining!! Let us help BGW to make up for lost time and money as we wish to keep Christmas Town a success.

So what say you all?? Who is going to be there this week, or better yet New Year's Eve? :)

By the way, let's give a massive shout out for all the hard work being put into making the park safe to open and all the pathways clear of ice. being that I ran the 8K dash- I know that path much better than I ever knew it before... painful running step by step. I could only imagine the manpower needed to blow 12" of snow off the shady paths and efforts to secure a slick free surface for all.

BGWFans- don't forget to thank the park employees for all their hard work. ;)
