Yeah, they were selling it spiked in Grogan's Pub. I do not like it though (yuck). I go to the Army/Navy every year and the people I go with always bring hot chocolate with Peppermint Schnapps. And they drink it out of ice cream cones (don't ask). I just think it's horrible. I'm blown away at how popular it is. Oh well, to each his own, for sure. :p

Shafor, you are too funny.

But I will have to try the spiked version at Grogan's at least once this year; ya know, for the sake of getting an accurate review of the park at Christmas Town. It is strictly professional of course. ::snicker:: :p

How low does the temp. have to be b4 they shutdown griffon?

I know they close the ride when the temp hits 40 and run a battery of tests to determine whether or not they can operate the ride safely. They have to look at speed and cycle time among other things.

So, I'm really looking forward to this year's event, but of course I have a few wishes for the released information:

1.) Mistletoe Marketplace - Rubber tarps are really festive and all, but I'm sure there are other ways of creating festive kiosks. The merchants have some great wares! Why don't you emphasize those wears with gorgeous methods of displaying them!!!
2.) Train needs something more. The trees are gorgeous, but that's just it, there needs to be MORE trees. Side note: When my family went on Halloween, we rode the train a full loop, and trees had already been planted, and they're much taller than last year. With that said, colored Christmas trees are nice, but maybe the park could make the tree displays coincide with the country's theme? Just a thought.
3.) I said it last year, and I'll say it again, " the tree in Oktoberfest should be REAL." Animated light shows are really one-trick-ponies, in my opinion of course (don't get offended). Really when I look at the BIRTHPLACE of Christmas trees I think of a tree the size of the Rockefellar Center tree, with simple white lights. My point is, Christmas, to me, isn't about the complexities of life, it's about the simple pleasures: being guided down a pathway by the dim light of a faraway Christmas tree, but whatever, it's a crowd pleaser afterall. But, if I did get my wish, I'd still want it (the animated tree), just in the Garden of Inventions where even more emphasis could be put on it.
4.) Ireland's theme...well, it seems kinda gawdy. CALM DOWN before you murder me. I just think that the show does not reflect the atmosphere. Now if Celtic Fyre was turned into a Celtic Christmas with Yuletide toasts and Irish festive jigs, Fizzywig anyone?, I would be all over it, but as it stands now, it's a party town with the Church Lady from SNL scolding the hooligans from the background.
5.) Wild Reserve - LEAVE IT BE FOREVER. This is what Christmas is to me. I'm not gonna elaborate; if you've walked through it, you know exactly what I mean.
6.) Maybe next year, Santa's from around the world could be used???
7.) Penguins: I'll make my suggestion after I see them in three weeks.

I'm sure I'll come up with more in the coming days. Anyway, I'm a diehard Howl-O-Scream fan, but ChristmasTown is the ultimate climax of this event season.

Oh you know what I meant, i.e. Father Christmas, Father Time, the Italian one that I can't remember the name of...

well i think it would be best just to stick to one santa since most kids visiting CT are from the USA. they only know of one santa and having multiple santas kinda ruins that whole santa is real thing haha

Santa Claus, Kris Kringle, Sinter Kraus, St. Nicholas, Father Christmas, Babbo Natale, Perez Noel, Po po Xi Cho or something like that. lol.

There's also a witch in italian folklore that is like their Santa Claus but I cannot remember her name.

I hope they don't have more than one Santa...

"Mommy, what do you mean this is another Santa?"
"I... Ahhh..."
"You said the last one was real! How can they both be real?!"
"Umm... Santa can be everywhere at once... Remember?"
"I guess you're right. He can change his clothes really fast too."
"Yes he can dear, it's one of his hidden talents."

OK!!!!! I didn't know my post was gonna become this huge joke. haha Anyway, what I meant was they could incorporate the traditions of each country into the theme.

I guessed that Pandora.

Anyway, Busch Gardens just updated their Facebook page: 1500 Christmas trees will be used in this year's ChristmasTown event. Jeez, I'm starting to wonder what that number was last year. Anybody have any idea? Anyway, sounds like quite the landscaping. I'm just guessing that this number includes those planted before the season ended. There had to be atleast two hundred trees already planted around the park on Halloween.

Now see if you guys can make a joke outta this post!! haha

My guess is that at this time last year the number 1,500 was still equal to 1,500. Unless I missed a special holiday or something...

In all seriousness though, I'm quite impressed with the numbers. I just hope that they won't go overboard with it (*Cough* England during Howl-O-Scream *Cough*). Now if they would just do something about the penguins...

I think the penguins will be somewhat better this year. Expect a bigger enclosure with perhaps a pool for them to swim about in.
