RE: BGW's Social Media

^
A lot of that may be true, however, I do see some legitimate concerns with the limited entertainment in shows & live music. Not to mention the park is dropping the ball a bit with cleanliness, trimmed shrubbery, etc.; though his statements are grossly exaggerated. BGW is pushing it right now with the claim of "WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL PARK".

RE: BGW's Social Media

On my way!!!! CASTING CROWNS!!!! Have no ride home but believe in faith that I will find a ride or that I will sleep comfortably at BG bus stop until first bus Monday morning.

So the guy says he's going to sleep in the parking lot if need be. Best part is the park "liked" this post.

From the park's FB page:

Busch Gardens Williamsburg said:
The Casting Crowns concert has been cancelled due to inclement weather. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Their next tour date appears to be in Orlando, FL, on September 7. But according to the forecast it looks like it'll be raining the next couple of days.

RE: BGW's Social Media

Can you imagine being one of those folks who sat in a line ALL day long for this? The line went to Pet Shenanigans when I saw it. Wow!!

I will never understand why people would stand in a line when they are guaranteed seats already.

RE: BGW's Social Media

^ I was reading through the comments. I knew some people would be upset. They said it was just a little rain that lasted 5 minutes and their was nothing to be concerned about. If that storm was anything like the one I just experience in Raleigh, NC, the gp had something to be concerned about. It sounds like cancelling the concert was the right call.

On a different topic, this individual thinks that BGW is advertising Verbolten as a kiddie ride..

You know the ride on the front of the brochure? Well in Ireland that ride is shown to the public as a kiddy ride but it's not, its a real extreme ride when out of public sight. Here's how it starts, first you are going slow, but has u get closer to the trees you just shoot into a tunnel, the tunnel is out of public sight. You just keep on going fast till u reach some point where you stop and go down 1 story down and then the fast comes back but not that fast it slows down then you take 1 look down then there is this huge drop and you go super fast down your stomach leans on to the bar as you go down the hill. Then the ride just stops and you move back in front of the public. So on the TV they say if you have medical conditions don't ride they mean for you not to ride! So this is no kiddy ride, be warned! Aka the trickery ride.

Actually, it did rain for about 5 to 10 minutes, then things really did clear up until right about 10PM when it started to just drizzle. So I think if they waited about 15 minutes after the rain slowed down and just delayed the concert by 20 or so minutes things would have been fine.

But I suppose canceling just gave Entertainment the excuse to get Catacombs set-up slightly quicker, but not really.

Verbolten is a family ride. There is a different between family and kiddy. The park sometimes gets the two confused, but in this case no.

Anyone notice the FB update saying RE EFP AND LS would be closed after today, then about 20 minutes ago on FB says those rides will be open unless cooler weather.

Today is a beautiful day and the last day our water rides will be running. Which Busch Gardens water ride is your favorite: Escape From Pompeii, Le Scoot Log Flume or Roman Rapids?

They probably caught the mistake because Screamscape called them out on twitter:

BGW to disappoint again, after today all water rides will close until 2014. Typical for the Roman Rapids but not Le Scoot or Pompeii.
So no water rides, virtually no shows, no simulator or 4d theater open BGW... What's left for those who don't like coasters?

RE: BGW's Social Media

I'm not sure if Screamscape's posts were the catalyst for the retraction. The posts there went up and within seconds there was a post on BGW's facebook page. Seems like way too short of a time for BGW to read, discuss, make a change to operations, type up, and post a retraction.

Yes, I realize I spend too much time on social media in order to be able to notice things like this.

Agreed.

Couldn't have been a legitimate mistake? People screw up all of the time. There isn't always an evil conspiracy behind every error...

RE: BGW's Social Media

So someone posted a comment on the Thursday Throwback picture on their Facebook. It was a picture with a corpse coming out of a casket and the comment was how "It is okay to post this picture today, but yesterday on the 12th anniversary of 9-11 it is not okay to post pictures of dead people." Or something to that extent.

Also, their Fiends preview picture is getting tons of MSR requests instead of Fiends and the complaints are back about the show being too naughty!
