I weep for humanity.

This quote actually reminds me of a time a friend went on a road trip and the girl she was with refused to let her play "that heavy metal music." It was the Pixies.

And why are people objecting to the inclusion of alcohol at an event at BUSCH Gardens?

Most people are too stupid to realize that "Busch" stands for Anheuser Busch. Though I can give "new" guest some a leeway, as the park isn't layered in AB logos anymore.

I just want to also note, these people complaining about the alcohol are mildly out of touch. If they think BGW is the only place teens can get alcohol they have no hope. But of course, bitch about it on Facebook. That will fix EVERYTHING.

i weep too, besides we don't want no bubble gum pop music there in Demon Street. I like the industrial, progressive, techno and house music it goes with what's going on, also it's a deep dark beat.

Would these people be mad if it was Jack Daniels park, and sold beer. I think a lot of times people complain before thinking, and think they should get something out of it. There was a complaint one time about Saturday stating that a group there for their annual work trip were offended because they brought their church friends, however poor MS G at services had to let these church people cuss her out, so guess HOS is just people's lead way to complain, can't satisfy everyone. But most think they deserve everything. So please do me a favor you see the team members doing something great, or a scare squad person backing up to not scare a group with a child, give them a compliment. We forget they are there to scare and entertain, but some guests yell at them, sometimes just because they were looking their way.

So for HOS should we start calling it, lets complain and downgrade the park that puts on this event and tried but because of budget had to cut back, that something is wrong with it. I was always told no ones perfect, so how can BGW HOWLOSCREAM be perfect when, people complain about dumb things, so park tries to fix it, only to get more complaints.

I love how Nic, Chickenking, Zachary, Nora ,and others do see the negativity but still point out positiveness, about the BGW HOS.

Sorry for my rant, but I'm glad we love this park and defend her at times. BGW don't have to do HOS really but it brings in crowds and $ and complaints. So I'm just saying my first time doing HOS in over a few years, yeah I enjoyed it on many levels, and can't wait to do it again as well as BB again with Vlad and my favorite blonde hair violin player, which I wish she could play that song on violin from Queen of the Damned, as like entrance music to vampire point. Ok I b quiet now. Shhhhh

RE: BGW's Social Media

Just throwing a statement out there, but there will always be complaints about Howl O Scream, especially come peak time when the park becomes slammed with 35000+ every Saturday. Opening weekend usually has it's flaws anyway.

It'll basically boil down to.
- Ermahgerd the event is too scary/adult for my 2 year old.
- I can't believe you're closed to capacity when there's clearly a million people getting into the park when the capacity is only 35000.
- Meh the event isn't scary enough.
- Bring back Jack/Monster Stomp

RE: BGW's Social Media

I will say there is a lot less complaints about HOS not being for children. For some reason this year parents are actually listening to warnings; however, there will always be at least one parent complaining.

You know, I do realize Demon Street is not the best thing the park has even done. I wouldn't go so far as to call it dumb though. The thing is, I love the effects, I love the demon figures, I love the scare actors, all on one level. They really make the place demonic. My biggest fear was people are going to complain that the park is demonic. Surprisingly, those complaints have been rare. But I do wish they could have gone more into the theming and really take you straight to Hell. I don't mind the DJ because it introduces something different, even though it was a failed concept in the past, times change. I think, with what they did it was decent at best. I still love the area overall but it could definitely have been better.

With that said, regardless of how crappy something may be at least have the guts to stand by your crap. Don't sit there and agree that it is crap, stand by your crap. Then next year, you can do better and you can be proud of something.

But, judging by the park's reaction to it, even they know the truth about Demon Street...

Yes, the park liked that post. You just can't make this stuff up.

yes, but I don't think that person should be posting anyway. He seems to know nothing of the park!:p

RE: BGW's Social Media

Why would you like a post that's kinda really downing your business by saying its worse idea. That's like asking someone if they want sympathy and than just telling them to buy a Hallmark card.

Now I have a close friend who works in GS and she said best complaint so far was a guests from a religious group that was there, and cussed her out over the soda being to cold, and the mixed drinks were too weak at HOS. Than the lady wanted reimbursement for her group even though their tickets were free. I'm wondering if these people who complain inside park get no resolution for petty complaints, than turn to social media to try and hurt park, when they look like a fool posting their rants, that probably didn't happen, kinda like the BITTEN actor calling someone's niece the B word but she couldn't understand what he was saying but the B WORD. Sounds fishy too me.

You got that right on the nose. Plus said she cussed her out and was wearing a church group outing tshirt

This. ALL of the so-called adult mixed beverages always seem to have the least amount of actual good stuff in them. I have found this true of almost any major establishment. You get to pay $10.00 for some fruit punch with just enough splash of rum to get the flavor. Man, I'd have to like throw down an entire Benjamin to get a buzz at BGW. That being said, they usually taste great, especially when a Naughty Nurse is serving you! Aaaaaarrrrrrrr!!

RE: BGW's Social Media

^so true chickenking. I stick to the beer anyway, but guess that's next complaint about people wanting a naughty male nurse, can't please em all. Yes CK would take a Benjamin to get twisted on Adult Beverages.

RE: BGW's Social Media

Another interesting post:

I took my son here for his 5th birthday, along with his two younger siblings. My entire family was appalled at the décor. I can understand leaving by 6 pm so we miss the Halloween haunted houses, etc., but decorating the entrance with zombies and cut up body parts is NOT family friendly by any means.

This was actually posted in the Reviews section.

I wrote a long, detailed post on why I was disappointed with Howl-o-scream, but accidently deleted it. In short, the turkey legs and pretzels we purchased were so dry, you could hit them against the wall and the wall would chip before the food would. But more importantly, Howl-o-scream just seemed under-staffed. Demon street was the only active terror-tory, the new lay out of the terror-tories made it hard to experience them, and all the creatures were gone and no where to be seen by 9 pm, I don't know if this was due to the rain on Saturday or not but it was supremely disappointing. When you drive the distance I do to attend, you want to be able to experience all 4 hours of frights. Furthermore, we walked through several of the haunted house for 2-4 minutes without seeing a single actor. When you wait a minimum of 30-45 minutes in-line for a 10 minute haunted house you expect more than that. Additionally, I missed the "Come Play in my Garden" tune throughout the park and the raven squawks, both were far more 'Halloween-like" than pirates. My friends and I attend this every year, and have never come away disappointed until this year. I sincerely hope it was just an anomaly.

Dear Busch Gardens,
I personally want to thank you for this weekend. My mother and I came Saturday to visit your park. She has had MS for 18yrs and is disabled. She truly thought she would never be able to ride roller coasters again, she hadn't been since 1977. I was truly amazed on how well you all went out of your way to accommodate us. We didn't have to wait for a single ride and got to ride as much as we wanted. I never felt so special. ALL of your staff was simply amazing and so kind. You helped me make one of her dreams come true. You will never know how much it meant to me. So, thank you for all you did for us. I will never forget it as long as I live. Thanks so much and God bless you all.....

This one was very heartwarming. Nice to know people still have positive experiences at the park.

It's an interesting point and, in all honesty, I can't say I completely disagree...

RE: BGW's Social Media

It does put a different view on things. Now I will say I had the opportunity to hear the most interesting thing. A young child asked their mother while walking through England, "Mama, why is the foot red?"

It makes me think there are children that don't understand the concept of body parts being ripped apart and bloody. It also makes me think that the park is using Ripper Row as an example to warn parents to keep their children out during Howl-o-Scream, even though it doesn't start until 6pm, they want parents to really know you do not want your kids here.

EDIT: Just to put this out there, you can buy the same exact feet at Halloween stores, even Wal-Mart and the Dollar Tree have them. So are those stores not family friendly?

RE: BGW's Social Media

Previously the entrance was comical pirate skeletons, or crows, etc. Much easier on those not interested in Halloween gore. More of a "soft" entrance to the scary areas. You could avoid other areas if they bothered you.

Now, you are forced to experience something more harsh since it is the only way into the park. This doesn't bother me, but I can see some families being assaulted with this. Even if they leave at 5pm as advised, small children are exposed to gore from 10am on.

Since it didn't change the area, as the terror-tories were SUPPOSE to do, this could have worked well in Aquitaine instead of the dance party. French streets could have easily been TRANSFORMED into victorian England. (Except they probably would have painted all existing buildings instead of building English facades. :( )

Just my observations.

RE: BGW's Social Media

I'm not sure if transforming France into England would work out well. How about a French Revolution theme instead? It would definitely fit the whole Paris is burning theme. Having a scare zone at the entrance isn't really the best idea anyway. I'd rather have the scare zone pushed back further into the park

Or if there is still a huge issue with the theming, make it a little more subtle. Have less bloody feet hanging above the pathways, but replace them with other props.

RE: BGW's Social Media

The French Revolution idea is really cool (me = history geek). But I don't like the idea of losing a Victorian area.

To me the fact that I love the British scare zones/mazes/etc, puts me firmly in the keep the kids out of the park one way or another camp, because I can see no way to get them safely past Banbury Crossing.

That said, I really don't understand the bloody feet. Why on earth are they there? When I think of 19th Cen Whitechapel, random body parts hanging overhead do not spring quickly to mind.
