Hmmm…I wish they would have integrated the castle into the roof, to make it look like a colonnade or portico, instead of….a metal roof.
I would have liked that too… the structure, while I understand is a later addition and was not originally part of the ride, looks basic. Its not necessarily bad looking, but more out of place.

Wasn't expecting Rx Bandits on my biweekly parkfans check in but I'm not complaining. And the Battle Begun rules

Those damn bandits...

Anywho, I'm wondering if a non-thoosie guest is going to notice a whole lot has changed with this renovation.

They may get the structure over the brake run, but even if the track is a bit smoother the wheel bogeys haven't changed so I think there's still a small amount of clearance on the upstop and internal wheels that will still produce the famed rattle.

This will sound like the dreaded thoosie vs GP argument, but hear me out:

Non-thoosie guests may notice a few things if they ride regularly enough, but in my casual observations in various regional parks the big things that get remembered by most seem to be colors, general location, and most of all a mashup of layout and forces. Rides like Expedition Everest or Big Thunder, Hagrid's or Velicoaster are the exception and not the rule when it comes to memorable theming, thus I'm not factoring those types of rides into this.

Nessie generally gets more reverence, but I feel like the things most remembered are the loops and cave... Maybe the first drop. And guests that don't have nostalgia for it sometimes see it as a rough ride they would do with short lines or otherwise avoid.

Therefore, while we as thoosies may be hyper aware of the changes, it's hard to say if others will be able to tell much if any renovation or theming expansion has been done.
