Another thing to consider is that now United is locked into licensing this asinine IP for years to come or, alternatively, detheming the house when it inevitably doesn't show returns after a year or two. In an era when houses often last 5-ish years and Anaconda isn't even going to bring people in on year 1, there's no way this make sense two or three years down the line—meaning United is just setting themselves up for further, frivolous expenses on what is already a profoundly stupid idea to begin with.

Seeing that Sony does both the Silent Hill and Resident Evil movies I hope that we could get that or some other Sony movie or video game IP. I know Sony doesn’t own those franchises and I know that the Silent Hill movies were all kind of lackluster, but they are based on very good franchises. I’m curious to know if this is a partnership with Sony in general or just that specific franchise.
Even though I thought Anaconda was a pretty bad movie, I do think it could make a decent haunted attraction with the right budget and planning. I have higher hopes for Tampa’s maze if they are using the location that I think they are, because it’s already in a jungle-like setting. Festa Field hardly has any trees so I am not expecting as much from Williamsburg.

Curious as to what your thoughts are about United IPs compared to the IPs Six Flags is bringing to their parks?
Anaconda in Tampa makes way more sense, here maybe it should be Garter Snake: Beware when Pulling Weeds.
I think you guys are getting it all wrong. Anaconda is a great idea. Decorating will be easy. BG can go to Home Depot and buy some plastic pipe and dryer vent hose then paint it and attach google eyes and voila...instant snakes.
Did anybody else realize that park hours for October were updated recently? Two days ago they were open on Wednesdays in the last to weeks of October, now the park schedule shows that they are only open from Thursday until Sunday.

As someone who mainly attended Wednesdays or Thursdays for Howl-O-Scream, I take it that this is because staffing was lower in the houses and zones on Wednesday nights and/or guest attendance was lower on Wednesday nights.
It’s somewhat of a shame because I liked the fact that you could basically walk into any of the mazes with very little wait. However, it does make more sense to stick with four days so that you don’t burn out your monsters.
So if anaconda is going just be a maze included with normal HOS then it will probably be mid as hell no? Conjuring is elite because it's forced to be because you pay for it. This probably will just be a standard maze I assume?
Yeah. This isn't some immersive theater-style upcharge like The Conjuring, this will be a normal format, mass market HOS house.
Quality is very much yet to be determined. If they hired a competent contractor to build them a great house (someone like Plague Productions, Zeitgeist, etc) this could be the best house we've seen in many, many years. If they hired some fly by night outfit with little to no experience and little to no investment in the actual quality that results, this could be more of the same trash we've seen recently.

There has often been a sort of sliding scale with Wednesdays being the most minimal operations and Saturdays being the most robust operations. For roasters, you should probably be safe any Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Wednesdays (if they add any back) and Thursdays operate with a skeleton crew and the likelihood of some rides being closed is significant.
I am extremely excited for this show however it sounds extremely similar to Wake The Dead at both Carowinds and Cedar Point.
