BGW like Sea World and BGT is also getting an Anaconda themed house which will replace Bayou. It's outside designed and constructed as part of the contract for the rights expect a heavy multi media element if what I was told is correct.

It’s weird because that the original was very meh, had a bunch of Syfy original slop, and then the recent comedy movie that wasn’t bad but not terribly horror.

I have to wonder out loud if this is the IP owner paying to advertise the brands because neither of these franchises have significant cultural impacts.

I mean, think of the synergy! JLo could do a HOS concert at BGW and BGT (cause she couldn’t sell any other stadiums on her last tour) and Brandy could do a concert at SWO with their I Know What You Did Last Summer house!

It's interesting that on the website, they have dropped the Terror-tories for this year, but it is the exact same as last year. Not just the same houses, but even listing last year's new zones as new for this year.

Definitely not a fan of the park going the IP route at all, never thought I’d see the day where BGW is so creatively bankrupt that they need to sell their soul to Sony… Yes, I understand this is a smart marketing and financial move due to the general public who are ignorant and probably don’t care about the park‘s theme as much as nerds like me, but still it’s sad to see…. 🫩😒

I mean, is it actually though? I will be shocked if anyone cares that Anaconda of all things is gonna have a house at BGW. From a marketing and financial standpoint, surely the money United is spending to license this remarkably stupid IP would be better spent just improving the event or on additional IP-less marketing?

I literally think United is flushing money down the toilet with this licensing bullshit. Like, maybe there are IPs out there that could maybe move the needle a little...? But Anaconda certainly isn't one of those and, even if such an IP does exist, I'd be shocked if it could move the needle enough for BGW that it would actually make the park come out ahead (as actually in demand IPs almost certainly command dramatically higher licensing fees than Anaconda).

I'm excited about a contract house build. I couldn't possibly be less excited about the chain lighting money on fire by licensing nonsensical IPs no one cares about.
