Something I forgot about until recently:

The beautiful flowerbed at Festa Italia is gone! When did this happen? I don't always ride to Festa so I hadn't notice this until August. I was so sad.

I forgot to post this. This is a backwards POV time-lapse taken from the last car on Der Hochbeinige. A some point after crossing the Rhine River Train Trestle, the exposure gets very low. This is temporary. It gets brighter almost instantly at the 1:10 mark. Enjoy!

I've been told that due to InvadR construction, the railroad is not expected to open this upcoming weekend. Not good on one of the busiest Christmas Town weekends of the year...

I hope they do their best to make this announcement as clear as possible on all fronts of media. Anyone who purchased tickets for these days will likely be upset with no CT train ride. I would be.

I can't say for sure but what I have heard is that it will start running December 9th when the park starts opening all week long but again that is NOT confirmed by any source that I would consider reliable.

I had written an extensive article on the history of the Busch Gardens Railway a few years ago that seems to be lost to time.

I wonder if Zach or Gavin could unearth it to be posted on the forum?

So what are the changes to the current "Der Hochbeinige" since opening in 1975? For a while, the train said "Heidelberg Express" (as seen in the video above rather than "Preussische Staatsbahn", which is currently the only signage.

My only guess as to the removal of the "Der Hochbeinige" signage, aside from possible laziness, is that the American pronunciation sounds very bad, and some people might even mishear it as a racial slur, sadly. However, I think I have only ever heard one or two conductors pronounce "Preussische Staatsbahn" correctly. It's quite a tongue twister vs. "Der Hochbeinige".

I actually wrote up an extensive article about the railway as a whole but it is currently hidden away on a PFN archive somewhere.

The 2018 BGW Park Map shows only 2 trains on the railway. This could mean two things. They’re putting emphasis on the fact that they usually only have 2 locomotives on the tracks, or they got rid of a third engine. Second one is highly unlikely, but still something to think about. This is the first time this has ever been seen ever since 1997 when the Alpen Express was introduced to the railway’s lineup.
