I applogize if this has been mentioned elsewhere...

In the Cariboo Station, the Alpen Express is undergoing some significant repairs. It appears as though the entire boiler is being renoveated/replaced. The boiler currently has no paint, there was a lot of tools scattered around it yesterday.

Saw this over the weekend. Got pictures!! I thought the boiler cover was removed. Could see the white insulation wrap and whatnot, I'll post the image as soon as I can.

Could Alpen Express be getting modified in such a way that it could make a stop on the hill at Festhaus Park and get moving again from a stand still?

Snow plow has always been on Alpen Express. I think that if this is happening right now then by next year we could see a new station next year, Maybe! But seriously this is all I have to say about this, It's about time! After all these years of the train station being rumored, now this could finally be the deal breaker! Yay!

And yes, the red cattle catcher has been sitting on the ground for at least several weeks now. The boiler cover has been off for the last two weekends.

Are you sure thats where Festhaus Park is today? I remember seeing something in the ground similar to that wall behind the Royal Palace Theater. Also I don't recall a spot near the Festhaus Park with a curve in tracks like that other than behind Royal Palace Theater.

I don't think it is RPT because there are no (and were no) open fields like that on either side. Festhaus park has a very big curve like that, it just looks smaller because there are trees blocking some of the view (and DF's station houses). I'm saying that is where it is because that is what was said by the person who owns this picture!

The photo is behind the RPT in an area once known as the Bison pen.

Yep- that is the field that is before and the side of RPT. I have a photo somewhere on my old hard drive of the place where the cover you see in the photo is... ugh- so many photos to go through!
