The CT fences really detract from the train ride experience. I hope they really consider decorating them or just leave the poles and remove the cross boards, wire and lights.

I know it all comes down to cost, but they won't retain the "most beautiful park" if they continue to leave ugly structures out year-round.
There is nothing to do to them to make them look better, they block the view. Anything short of complete removal wont be enough. Who ever thought them up made a huge mistake, the lights themselves were pityful looking, and they hardly made any effort to program them. They would make better use of them by putting them on the tarin and programming them to match the surrounding lights as the train makes the loop.

I actually liked the effect during CT but I agree they distract from the view the rest of the year. If they did something to like growing ivy or something along those lines I think they could look better.

I'm surprised that they didn't just make the holes permanent but make it so that the poles were removable the rest of the year so that it is easily taken down.

Personally I'm hoping that these are just a we ran out of time and they will come down soon.

I asked one of the train engineers if he knew when the Balmore Castle engine and tender would be fixed and he said they are still both off site and didn't know when they will be back. He was hoping it wouldn't be too much longer but said they'll survive with just the two for now.

Found this interesting.

I can't help but notice a lack of a station #2. And conveniently in the order that it takes, it would be something between Caribou and Festa. Was there actually a Germany station intended? I thought the idea was explored but I never knew if it was heavily contemplated to an extent of giving it a value in planning.

Either that or they avoided "2" because it sounds similar to "b2"

That ordering only makes sense if the trains travel in the opposite direction around the loop.

Of course, to a map maker / station labeler looking at a map, the direction of travel may not matter as much. Perhaps it’s convention to number counterclockwise. If an engineer (math, not train) assigned the station numbers, then you’d more likely than not get counterclockwise numbering. Unit circle, right hand rule...

Any chance that station 2 is actually the partially covered maintenance and parking yard behind the actual Caribou station?

Though thinking about it serving as a placeholder for Oktoberfest is much more interesting.

Also where is B2 code “G” for goose? Wouldn’t be the first time a goose got annihilated by a BGW train or its passenger...

^ she's not quite finished. She's still missing the coat of arms flag holder on the front and the blue pin striping accents along the mid-engine wheel well. The name "Balmoral Castle" is also missing.

Hopefully those accents get added.
True. I was just noting the lack of fire damage and the condition now relative to the condition she left in. I also hope that they put all of the emblements and accents on it that were there previously and not leave as-is.

Looking at the photo of the tender I dont see any tanks or any of the new looking safety items added to the others after the fire. There also appears to be quite a bit of work left to do on them. Could it be that only the extensive repairs that could not be completed by BGW onsite were done and the boiler and such were checked. Now it could still be a few months for the remainder to be completed.
