I didn’t see this reported anywhere, while it wasn’t a right, it came very close to one. This was a HOS Day, Scotland parking crowded. Waiting for the tram to get back over there, and some teens just randomly got into the stroller only rows, when there was a line, just for the strollers, that was down toward the turnstiles. I was waiting for the next tram after that one, and it took a solid 20 minutes before they could get that tram sent because of these brats. A guest managed to get security up to the tram stop (I’m assuming they either had the phone number or connections to someone in security), and it still didn’t get them off. Then they called the cops over (the cop was pissed as well, she actually said, “y’all, I’ve been running back and forth all night, I don’t need another fight already!”), and it took the cops, escorting them out of the tram and to the parking lot (I’m assuming for at least temporary detainment), before they got off. This was a party of 4, and 2 of them didn’t even know that they werent supposed to get on that row (keep in mind, dark AF out). Supposedly one of them was an employee so they (if they haven’t I’m surprised) definitely got fired. Just thought I should share this. It’s not a fight, but it almost became one. And when they could finally send out the tram (security was preventing the trams from being dispatched), everyone on the tram and waiting cheered because they knew that the person that took that back row was being an ass.

The Daily Press ran an article on the theme park fight issue recently.

I still think that, in some cases (not all), that park operators are creating unneeded stress on people. I get frustrated every time I have to *pay* for a locker or just get brushed off by guest services when there is a problem. Every bit of frustration adds to something boiling over..... while I'm typically very easy going at parks even I am finding that visiting parks is sometimes a stressful endeavor.

Recently our Rec centers here in Va Beach changed there lockers over to all free. Just twist and pull the key out of your locked door. And leave it there when your done. It makes it easier to plan your day there and go when you don’t worry about should I bring this, can I carry that, etc.

Having worked at a rec center long ago, there were so many complaints about lockers swallowing quarters, or kids not bringing the change needed to lock anything thus getting stuff moved or whatever. That's a great change I wish the parks would adopt. But I'm also not sure that would go but so far to increase satisfaction enough to prevent fighting.

As discussed earlier, the consensus seems to be they happened due to a confluence of post-lockdown behaviors, attitudes, park policies and their enforcement. Plus just general shitty people.

To be clear, I was only pointing to the lockers as a single example of a long line of various things that parks are doing now that frustrate people. Many of those things were already in existence before lockdown and were still just as frustrating but we are also seeing new frustrations added and previous frustrations expanded. Certainly people are more primed to anger even before entering the park (personally I think it's more an overall polarization of politics than post-lockdown) but all of these things *in* the parks are adding to that. Making lockers free isn't going to solve the problem but it's a step in that direction.

Looks like fight season is back at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. As I was exiting today a JCC cop was sprinting from the England parking lot to the front gate and then I heard a bunch of sirens that sounded like they may have been coming from the France lot. Seems like this was the likely culprit:

I am going to throw this out that I have seen MULTIPLE reports on social media that the man being hit in these videos actually shoved or possibly hit the other group first. I have no idea if that is correct or not but given some of the comments on the videos I feel like it's important to throw that out.

With my young boys, witnessed a fight that looked a lot like this one except with two groups out front of Pompeii. Fortunately I was with my children so we could duck into the gift shop there.

Always a good idea to stay with the younger ones because you have a better sense of where to go and what to do when one of these violent groups get sparked.
