I am going to throw this out that I have seen MULTIPLE reports on social media that the man being hit in these videos actually shoved or possibly hit the other group first. I have no idea if that is correct or not but given some of the comments on the videos I feel like it's important to throw that out.
It actually doesn’t change much. The guy isn’t doing much in the videos. I can understand landing one punch but swarming an old 60 something year old dude is a bad look.

To my question about cameras. Each queue line can be outfitted with good setups for a few thousand in product. Setups like Ubiquity protect should be able to be installed by the park staff. A structure like pantheon would be easy for at least 5 in the station (center 360 and 4 corners)

It’s more complicated the that when dealing with commercial situations, there’s a additional laws and regulations, installers need to be licensed, your talking about implementing a pile of cameras and the infrastructure and networking to install them. I understand the thinking but to defend the park a quick on search makes this seem like this is the first major incident in many years. Hopefully the park and the law can handle those involved and we can more on from this stupid embarrassing situation.

It's not the first major incident in years in fact it's not even the first this season just the first to have video pop. That said it's also not a chronic issue either.

As someone who works in the security world at a major International airport, I can say that the time, R&D, money, and monitoring of the cameras is key, and real-time response to incidents is what matters most. If for nothing else, the pervasive violence in different forms we see at parks makes some form of monitoring worth it, as now we have the threats of an active shooter, etc. on top of brawls due to a line cutting incident or a beef between individuals. It would take ages for a quick PD response from the front of the park to Pantheon unless they are staged near Apollo, or there are security stations set up within the park that can quickly respond to these issues. If BGW were serious about a footprint of safety, they would need to have security or PD "hotspots" - IE camera guard booths etc. in various locations almost as prevalent as the restrooms or lockers. If something happened at most parks, I can't say most people know where to go or who to talk to when something pops off.

The airport environment in which I work is not much different than a theme park when it comes to crowd control, queue management (boarding areas for planes vs. rides) access to alcohol, stress with kids, human demographics, looking for signs, bumping into people, and trying to be "first" in line.

All parks, not just BGW, need to consider these security factors just as much as they consider the next attractions to build. The question is never if they will have to respond to guest-security incidents, but when, and most importantly, how. Much easier said than done I know, but quickly responding to and ending these types of incidents in the presence of moving coaster trains or other ride infrastructure must be considered. A brawl breaking out in the station of Tempesto in the middle of a ride cycle could be absolutely catastrophic - something I hope we never witness, but BGW needs to start thinking about and working on deterrence and response methods to such threats on a large scale, and fast.

PS: Its an unimaginable shame people act like this in front of their kids, and then ignore their kids cries for them to stop while they act out. That kills me more than seeing the brawls unfold themselves.

I should be clear I wasn't for a second defending what I saw I those videos but there were several horrible generalization in the comments in those linked videos that are even worse IF the first punch was thrown by him and I felt in relationship to THOSE comments that the possibility needed to be put out there.

I am suspicious of this one, it seems like an impersonation of another person's account. The misspelling and other phishing type markers are making me question it.

Basically what I was seeing last night and trying to explain without seeing all those details.

Is that always how they summarize their news week in a single unrelated sentence?

“Fight breaks out at Busch Gardens, waffles now free on Saturdays, librarians go on strike.”

“Fight breaks out at Busch Gardens, president considers declaring WWIII, energizer bunny returns”

“Big Bad Wolf returns to Busch Gardens, world peace achieved, cancer cure hits mass production.”

Do you know of anything happening tonight...?

Presumably if someone else did, they woulda said something.
