The floating bridge does that...just floats, but when it rains really hard, the bridge floats up too high sometimes and has been damaged. It has needed to be replaced for years. I would love for the park to build a little village down on the banks like the Waterfront at SeaWorld Orlando, but the access to that area is the challenge.

Seems like all it would take is something like this:

$132.00. Pick it up and set it down. Wheelchair rolls easily across. The boat is very close to the same level of the dock decking. Seems simple enough. Maybe there are other considerations. I dunno.

There is still the stairway and hill though.

The HUGE hill and massive flights of stairs down to the boats might be a slight problem for wheelchairs.

Just put one of those lovely ramps on every step going down to the water! It should only take twenty or so. Let's see... 20 times $132... is... $2640. It should only cost them so much to do! Problem solved. :p

How about they create a zig zag back and forth ramp going all the way down? It's not like they don't have the space or anything.

For those who may not have understood me, this is a picture showing what I mean. Imagine the slope downward to be less sudden and less steep.

I like the diamond viewing platforms, but considering where this bridge is going to be, what is there to view? Loch Ness Monster isn't visible until you get of that part of the bridge for the most part. So basically what you'll be "viewing" is trees. I guess you could also use them to look into the water to look at fish, but you rarely see them through the water, so....:-/

I wonder about the same thing. Maybe there will be something more to see down there from the vantage point of the bridge. Maybe now, or maybe in the future...

I think that this would be awesome. I just wonder if there is enough space? I love the waterfront at seaworld.

Not sure how I feel about the way the new bridge will look. I'll have to reserve judgement until I see pics of it completed. I hope it's not TOO high above the water...

What REALLY needs fixed (at least as of several years ago) are the steps going down to the bridge from Loch Ness. Talk about hazardous! And the slope going up into Germany from the Rhine Cruise is treacherous when damp/wet. They need to come up with a viable way for people to get up/down on both sides of that bridge. I think alot more people would take that route if there were safe and easier ways to traverse that area. I already put out there the idea of having a funicular on each side of the valley. I have NO idea how much that would cost...but it would encourage people to take that route. It would also minimize any liability from slips/falls. But what do I know? ;)

Zach, the first picture of the bridge on the main post shows much different stairs, especially on the loch ness side. Is this just for concept art purposes, or are they going to replace them too?

That's just the park map from this year used for decorative purposes only- I should probably clarify that... Thanks for pointing it out! :p
