I'm not accusing you. I am blaming anyone and everyone for just giving up on security measures just because of any of the following reasons:

- It doesn't look good
- It causes back ups
- It won't do anything anyway

These security measures are designed to do a job, and they do it. The above reasons are excuses for people who really do not care about ensuring that no one gets hurt.

Without incriminating myself, I can tell you I have gotten items through many places that I probably shouldn't have. Not that I had poor intentions, I just didnt want to turn around from where I was going.

Needless to say, metal detectors WILL NOT stop someone from getting something in and nor will bag searches. Sure, you may catch the idiots, but those aren't the ones you need to worry about. People are extremely creative, and if you think for a second you can stop them, you're wrong.

If large swarms of GP die in some tragic theme park bombing, it wouldn't have been stopped by a metal detector. Unless they make detectors that can sort out psychopaths, no amount of security will prevent a true maniac from carrying out his wishes. Is security a deterrent to most minor crimes? Sure. Will it stop a terrorist? Not at all. I don't think the park needs to go out of the way to make entering a giant hassle just because 1 out of every 100000 guests might possibly do some harm.

PR, please understand that there are for worse situations that happen on a daily basis else where in the world. You know what is a worse situation? People that carry weapons when they go out for a night drinking. Try going down to VB on a Saturday night and tell me how many people you see carrying that probably shouldn't be.

I don't doubt that some people try pulling some dumb shit at BGW, but to say it would mortify me is a bit of a stretch.

I care, I really do. Could you please stop saying that people don't care about other people's lives, because I do.

Metal detectors won't do anything, they will not. If a person wanted to do harm they could easily get around metal detectors, as we have seen many times happen at KD. I don't think you understand the situation. Because let's say the park was catching everything at the metal detectors(which they won't), someone could still do whatever they wanted at the entrance area of the park, where they haven't hit any security measures. I don't think you understand that if a person wants to do harm, they will find a way to do it, and some metal detectors aren't going to stop them.

Plus, lines are an issue. KD's gates are twice the size of BGW's and they still get enourmous lines, even on slow days. If the park were to install metal detectors, lines would be backed up all the way to the tram stop on busy days, and up the hill on slow days. It would take hours to get into the park. Even if the park tries metal detectors they would be removed very soon, because the park would rather have more customer satisfaction, rather than having them wait in an hour long line just to get into the park. You can complain all you want, metal detectors aren't going to happen.

And now I am asking, what if something does happen? You all seem fairly certain nothing doe, but what if on the off chance something does happen and it could have been prevented by something like a metal detector?

So you realize someone could just drive into parking, and mow down the ticket sales lines right? or blow up a tram? Or bathrooms? Or the bridge? Or EVEN BETTER, since everyone is waiting in a stupid long line waiting to walk through useless metal detectors, having bags searched, being groped, etc, they are easy targets? What then PR? What if metal detectors cause a mass murder?

Also, FBI, these are just theoretical scenarios. Dont taze me bro.

The future of driving into BGW.

You've never been to KD, have you, PR? You don't know the struggle of pulling all your belongings out of your pockets and standing idly in a line as people creep their way through the metal detectors. They do little more than act like a security blanket, they make the public feel safe and it deters little teenagers looking to cause trouble. It's not worth it.

This. I went on your typical day not too long ago. Got there 20 min before opening, didn't actually walk through the gate until 30 min AFTER opening.

Regardless of what has been said, what happened yesterday was taken care of the best way that it could have been handled. Myself and many other people do desire extra measures; however, I at least expect them not to happen until after a life is taken.

I'm alright with the current situation, not thrilled, but alright and as I said before, I hope people learn from this.
