If you live in a world of hypotheticals, you'll never really get anything accomplished.

Let's try and keep this thread a little more on topic to the incident which occurred yesterday.

I would be Mahone because Mahone is usually on the winning side. Haven't you ever seen Police Academy?

In referance to metal detector at BGW, been there done that shortly after 9/11. Talk about a major fubar of an entry time. Was glad to see them taken out
Next as others have said metal detector would not help with liquid or plastic explosives.  The park would have to install explosive detection devices like they have at the airport making each and ever guest have there hands and various other articles swabbed and then read by the machine. Then the park would need to limit what things guest can bring in to the park with them. And allow only unopened factory sealed baby items like formula, baby food ect.  Wheelchairs, electric mobility scooter, wagons and strollers will need to go through x-ray machines along with all bags and lastly thank you shoe bomber you will need to send your shoes through.. Then guest will have to go through whole body x-ray devices. followed up with roaming security dogs throughout the ticket lines and within the park.  Lastly not just the guest but the employees will need to get to work a little earlier as this will need to be pressed on them also.  Unlike the federial Goverment helping with the tab at the airport this added security cost will need to be passed on and guess who it will be passed on to.  So if the park was interested in doing it right be ready to also dig a bit deeper in to your pocket.

sorry but Benjamin Franklin said it best:
" They who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety."

I hate how this happened a day after my birthday. My whole group Yesterday was amused by that fact.

I think their should be metal detectors at BG as pointed out earlier. It hasn't happened yet, but someone could easily bring a weapon into the park and harm a bunch of innocent families. People are crazy.

I don't think there were actual bombs, just a threat. But if there were, you see how easy that was? Time for metal detectors and not that half-ass bag checking.

You realize you can go to your local mall and have the same thing happen right? Or literally any other place... Hell, someone could be waiting for you when you walk out your door. There's no pointing in living your life scared of everything. We all die eventually :p
I realize that. People die, and get shot every single day. Some people are absolutely crazy and enjoy killing people, I guess. And like you said, it can happen anywhere. So why not BG as well? They have 0 security. Someone could bring a weapon to BG easily, not at KD. Say what you want about it, but I'm seriously made to take my belt off everytime I go, and I'm told to empty my pockets. It would be very difficult grtting a weapon into KD. I realize you can't have security everywhere, and that's not what I'm saying. A place as populated as BG, should have stricter security though. The bag checking system they have is pointless. If that's all they are going to do, the park might as well not have it.

If a person wanted to get a weapon into KD, all they would need to do is put it at the bottom of their bag, it's really not that hard. But hey if you want pointless metal detectors, just so you can wait in a two hour line to get into the park every time you go, so you can have an absolutely false sense of security, that's fine. Metal detectors aren't going to stop someone who wants to do harm. But seriously can we stop this conversation, it's starting to get annoying and repetitive, everyone believe what you want and keep to yourselves, we're not going to change each other's minds.
