I just came across this while making the afternoon news round.  This is pathetic, I hope they get the person and throw the book at them!

WAVY's Facebook comment from someone inside the park...

They are letting people out next to appolos chariot. Depending on which parking lot you're in. We just got out. The bomb threat was on a piece of paper. So they closed down England and the England parking lot.

TV station WVEC, CH 13 in Norfolk has a short article about this on their website and it says they have a news crew on the way there and will post more info when they get it.

Wow. Shows how easy it is to cause chaos. I'm sure it's not long before BG gets metal detectors like KD

That would seriously be a terrible idea. The last thing those gates need are more slowdowns.

Also, from a friend at the park today.

We just left. It started after 2:30. No one in or out of England exit/entrance. Employees evacuated from that area. Rest of park is normal. People have to exit through Sesame Street back entrance or Ireland back entrance. No trams running either.

Relaying more info.

hey aren't running trams so we walked behind Sesame Street, on the tram bridge to Italy lot. They are letting cars in one by one through the gate. Before that they were turning guests away. One guy told me he was right at the turnstiles and they turned him away, but when he went to the tram are they decided to let him in through Sesame Street back gate.

They are also giving single day park goers vouchers to come back another day as we left the park. No one was made to evacuate the actual park, just England and Sesame Street Forest of Fun, also no Skybuckets.

That probably won't happen just because of a bomb threat. If every place that has had a bomb threat got metal detectors, basically every public place would have one. People are just stupid!

Busch Gardens (Facebook) - Shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 29, Busch Gardens’ officials began evacuating the park’s England village after an employee received information regarding a bomb threat. James City County authorities were notified. Guests and employees were escorted out of the England village and the park was closed for approximately 10 minutes. Nothing was found, and the park reopened. Out of an abundance of caution, the England village remains closed at this time. Guests entering or leaving the park are being escorted to an alternate park entrance.

Also, Skyride, Train And Trams Are Not running

Edit: for anyone interested, FoF was also closed at this time. People were exiting behind Castle O'Sullivan to go to England lot and Next to FoF to get to the other lots. The rest of the park was operating in a normal way, like nothing happened.

Sorry for the short posts, my phone doesn't play well with this for WYSIWYG editor

The trains were running when I was there. Left an hour ago, and most of the park was running like nothing was going on. There weren't any trams running, so we got to have the rare privilege to walk on the tram bridge to Italy parking lot.

Most places do have metal detectors. At least they do here near DC. Even at the National today we were forced to go through metal detectors. It's unreal.
